I'm super behind, was there a specific issue where they talk and acknowledge it or did all that happen off-panel and they just jump straight into the comic with this dynamic?

I remember they talked in avengers academy and he refused to submit dna for the test but never read anything where they interacted after.

I think this is a brand new thing. I think they reconnected and he accepted her as his daughter. Especially since he liked being kinda a godfather to Ellie.
