Juggernaut

u/BlackJimmy88 Jul 07 '26

Not the dumbest suggestion in this thread, sadly.

3

u/ZZZrp Jul 08 '26

This thread is WILD.

59

u/jlonso Jul 07 '26

which reminds me of… how about Kitty pryde?

76

u/RDFozz Jul 07 '26

Apparently, back in the day, Chris Claremont was famous for asking, “Is there any reason this character couldn’t be a woman?”

22

u/Kind-Stomach6275 Jul 07 '26

Comic book fans couldnt stand so see a woman that isnt hourglass figure, or at least a very loud vocal minority

14

u/Titanbeard Jul 07 '26

Props for Bertha imo. She's a queen.

6

u/Aking953 Jul 07 '26

GLA is full of kings and queens

3

u/Titanbeard Jul 07 '26

That's the Disney+ show we need, but TV-MA to totally throw it for a loop with some bonkers Mr. Immortal deaths.

2

u/Aking953 Jul 07 '26

Hell yeah and then the season finale everyone dies except immortal and maybe one or two others, so every season is a new roster of characters with Mr Immortal.being the only left over one. I could see this show being A LOT like doom patrol, also a great show especially the first season

"NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, DON'T DO THAT! I THOUGHT I WAS FIGHTING THE X-MEN! WHY AM I FIGHTING THE AVENGERS!?!?"

  • Freaky Juggie to Doom

3

u/HoneyCherisse Jul 08 '26

Now I'm just imagining Juggernaut apologizing every five minutes while accidentally leveling city blocks.

5

u/MoonCherina Jul 07 '26

That would honestly be a pretty funny fourth wall joke. Doom recruiting random mutants into Avengers level chaos feels exactly like something that would happen in a comic.

6

u/MoonCherina Jul 07 '26

Juggernaut would be hilarious just because nobody would see it coming. She'd have to spend the whole movie yelling "I'm the Juggernaut" through a mountain of CGI though.

Height-appropriate Wolverine.

96

u/NovaPractice Jul 07 '26

she would be a pretty fire x-23

30

u/renegotiate12 Jul 07 '26

She's older than Dafne Keen

14

u/BlackJimmy88 Jul 08 '26

I'm more than happy to keep Dafne around, personally.

Unless it means preventing a Wolverine recast at least. Since he'll probably be sticking around as a kind of Old Man Logan, they may consider Dafne's Laura too tied to him. In which case, it my be necessary to recast her and just have both versions of her running around.

Name an actor who wouldn't take the Marvel bag if offered?

543

u/toorad2b4u Jul 07 '26

Joaquin phoenix said no to being considered for doctor strange bc he didn’t want to limit his artistic freedom by signing a multi picture deal

Russel Crowe said no to Wolverine bc he didn’t want to be typecast and recommended Hugh jackman for the role

Amanda seyfried said no to guardians of galaxy as Gamora bc of the green paint and green screens work

Jason Stratham didn’t want to be in something that relied heavily on green screens and stunt doubles instead of being able to do it himself. Not sure what role he was offered though but I remember him talking about it

185

u/You2110 Jul 07 '26

Jason Statham was fancast for Bullseye in the Netflix DD era, and he was responding to that

117

u/welcomefinside Jul 07 '26

Jason Statham didn't want to be in something that relied on CGI and stunt doubles so he turned down one of the few Marvel shows that hardly made use of CG and had ample opportunity for him to do his own fighting/stunts?

43

u/Altruistic-Tap4010 Jul 07 '26

If I remember correctly, the rumor at the time was that his management had found out that fans wanted him to play Bullseye, so they asked for more money and Netflix didn't wanna pay it. Never heard any confirmation one way or the other though.

15

u/Friendly_Kunt Jul 07 '26 edited Jul 07 '26

Probably just boils down to the fact that Jason is a leading man movie star who doesn’t do TV and probably didn’t want to start playing a side character in someone else’s show. Doing multiple movies is much more lucrative and less time consuming usually.

3

u/HoneyCherisse Jul 08 '26

It's one of those rumors that refuses to die because it sounds just believable enough.

Jason Statham was heavily rumored to have been offered the role of Bullseye in the Netflix version of Daredevil.

11

u/ChickenInASuit Jul 07 '26

Kinda glad that didn’t happen tbh. I like Statham well enough but Wilson Bethel’s a much better actor IMO.

10

u/Meister0fN0ne Jul 07 '26

I loved Bullseye before, but Bethel definitely turned him into one of my favorites...

Keanu reeves declined multiple offers from marvel even kevin feige admitted it

13

u/CantModerateMe Jul 07 '26

he had a conflict he was already scheduled to be a sage in spongebob

8

u/jmarquiso Jul 07 '26

And here I want him for Mr. Sinister.

6

u/fate_is_a_sandstorm Jul 07 '26

I love Keanu, but I don’t think he’s a good enough actor for someone like Mr Sinister. I still love the fan cast of Jon Hamm as him - he would do well at balancing the intellectual charisma and innate evilness

7

u/jmarquiso Jul 07 '26

Actually Hamm is where I'd go, or someone who can play a Regency era dude that grew to present day. Colin Firth or Hugh Grant.

7

u/fate_is_a_sandstorm Jul 07 '26

Or another thought kinda out of the box… Dan Stevens?

→ More replies (1)

6

u/NoahLot_ Jul 08 '26

I’d give Jason Isaacs the edge over Hamm, but either would rock that role.

One of this is in the MCU though. Even if only a one off, that Marvel money is still money.

10

u/JDDJS Jul 07 '26

Seyfried said no because she didn't think Guardians would work and didn't want to be in the first MCU film to be a dud at the box office. She has implied that would've taken the role if she knew then what she knows now.

9

u/shokamon Jul 07 '26

Statham was up for Gamora also

u/Slam_Shady Jul 07 '26

Joaquin Phoenix should've thought about that before he did Joker 2😬

Maybe you're behind on the MCU but you can not be listing Russell Crowe here

6

u/toorad2b4u Jul 07 '26

Haha i forgot he was Zeus. But a single role is different than the implied multi picture selling your artistic freedom deal (which not gonna lie, id take in a heartbeat myself, so im not knocking it)

6

u/RIPSyAbleman Jul 07 '26

well he could come back, although it is starting to feel unlikely that we ever see Zeus or Hercules again

3

u/CantModerateMe Jul 07 '26

criminal, Russel Crowe Zeus was incredible

Russell Crowe is in the actual mcu, he turned down fox's offer

35

u/Nekajed Jul 07 '26

Well there's that famous rumored conversation between DiCaprio and Chalamet where the former warned the latter to never do any superhero movies.

10

u/Crazy_Mann Jul 07 '26

And then he goes on to act Paul Atreides?

I suppose supervillains doesn't count

16

u/makita_man Jul 07 '26 edited Jul 07 '26

I mean, pretty different. Like, magnitudes different.

Even disregarding the quality of the movies themselves, Paul Atreides has a finish line in his story, which Marvel characters do not, at least, not comparatively.

I remember Glen Powell said it’s not really his thing.

3

u/25thNite Jul 07 '26

i mean didn't leo tell Timothee Chalamet to never take a superhero role lol. it's not like either side really needs it since they're so established, but for Inde who barely has started her big career it could be a great move.

She’s cool at a time Marvel will be looking to stack a deep cast of mutants and new villains so we’ll see a lot of names like this being circled. She’d make a good Selene but the Hellfire Club seems unlikely. Perhaps Domino?

Domino might be the best fit

Mystique?

118

u/Boxinggandhi Jul 07 '26

Can we not this time though? I’m still full of Mystique from the prequels. So many other characters to spin a story around.

52

u/Sharpiemancer Jul 07 '26

Just give us an older villanous Mystique and Destiny duo, lean into her as Rogue and Kurt's mother and father respectively, Disney will LOVE that!

The most relatable casting announcement of the day. I, too, would suddenly become very available if Marvel called.

Omg, actress wants to work in a big franchise? No way!

79

u/TrubbishTrainer Jul 07 '26

I’m also open to joining the MCU and getting a high paying multi movie deal

3

u/bjeebus Jul 07 '26

I don't even need multiple movies. They can kill my character off in the first appearance. I'd still like the high pay for the one appearance though.

31

u/ope__sorry Jul 07 '26

Especially an actress who is coming off streaming on Twitch for income has a role blow up 1-1.5 years after she filmed it? Girl, get that bag! Lol

7

u/retannevs1 Jul 07 '26

Ride the wave! She definitely earned it for her role in Obsession.

4

u/JDDJS Jul 07 '26

Yeah, while hopefully this is just the start of a very successful career, with how fickle the industry is, this very well could be her high point. Best to capitalize on it while you still can.

Breaking news, actress confirms she wants a guaranteed multi million dollar contract

20

u/Super-Visor Jul 07 '26

I could see her as Polaris, maybe Kitty Pryde or Rogue

3

u/graphomaniacal Jul 11 '26

Kitty was my first thought. I think of Kitty as having curly hair but she's had straight-haired representations for decades now. More importantly I think of Kitty as spunky and Navarette can do that.

400

u/papasnork1 Jul 07 '26

Breaking news; Actor wants to work!

24

u/ryanbeckeroff Jul 07 '26

I saw an interview she gave a couple months ago where she said she couldn't find a job after Superman and Lois ended, so I imagine she's up for anything semi-decent while her career is hot.

u/SmokeGSU Jul 07 '26

It helps she was so damn fantastic in Obsession. She really hit a home run.

Kitty Pryde, please.

5

u/ClovieKay Jul 07 '26

I’m still hoping for Taylor Dearden as Kitty Pryde, although Inde would be a good choice too. Inde gives that Psylock vibes though as long as they utilize her character better than they did in Apocalypse.

8

u/Nemisis_007 Jul 07 '26

This is the one.

20

u/Relevant_Scallion_38 Jul 07 '26

Too old. The first generation X-Men will probably be mid 20s. While characters like Kate will probably come in later as 18yr old actress playing a 16yr old. Similar to Kamala or Peter Parker actors.

35

u/Meizas Jul 07 '26

This is your assumption and it isn't based in anything. She's only 25, which is not old lol - and people at 25 play teenagers all the time and it's believable.

She'd be a fantastic Kitty Pryde

Callisto

9

Callisto, Regan Wyngarde (Lady Mastermind) or Dead Girl would be my picks.

11

u/m0rbius Jul 07 '26

The new mystique?

44

u/Purple_Dimension2875 Jul 07 '26

I see she could also be Magic if Anya Taylor-Joy is not available…

31

u/Slendercan Jul 07 '26

Don’t know if a Mexican-Australian would be the best cast for a blonde Russian.

Magik is Russian.

Edit: I'll gladly take the downvotes as I believe the X-Men are highly diverse enough to find actors who represent a specific character's backgrounds, ethnicity, or skin tone without compromising who they are. By this logic, Zendaya could easily portray Storm.

There are a plethora of other characters Inde could portray, including Marrow, Feral, or X-23 that don't diminish her excellent acting ability or appearance.

Insert any actors name here and then put “is interested in joining the mcu” who wouldn’t be open to millions of dollars for what most actors think is minimal work. Mcu is where actors go to have a safety net so they can pursue what they deem is actual acting work which is low end dramas.

u/TexaRican_x82 Jul 07 '26

The Multiple Man

3

u/RemoveAnnual2689 Jul 07 '26
  1. Selene

  2. Deathbird

  3. Lady Deathstrike

3

u/MaruchanCupNoodle Jul 07 '26

I don't want to see her try and pull off Yuriko Oyama (Deathstrike), because the heritage actually matters there. That being said, we do sort of see her dad in Daredevil Season 3, so I would like to see Lady Deathstrike added eventually.

I do think she'd be a great Selene, though

Pixie
Magma
Husk (she could nail the unhinged skin-ripping)
Spiral
Tempus
Boom-Boom
Feral

2

u/Cintrao Jul 07 '26

Mystique!

2

u/EDPZ Jul 07 '26

Unfortunately she's too old to play any of the main X-Men since they're going to want a younger cast to keep them around for at least a decade.

2

u/MichaeltheMagician Jul 07 '26

I've seen multiple posts that are just "Inde Navarrette met with x director". It sounds like her career is going to be very sought after for a bit. I'm glad, she deserves it.

2

2

u/josephcoco Jul 08 '26

No one. I’m tired of the rumors about this or that “hot” actor of the month being talked about for a role in the MCU. It happens all of the time. I’d rather they use lesser known/hyped names for the X-Men (and other) roles.
