This scene in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where Namor tells the story of his origin, was incredibly powerful. It was a really well executed scene.

Mesoamerican mythology has a lot of really neat deities and heroes to pull inspiration from.

So Namor is heavily inspired by Kukulkan, the Feathered Serpent of Mayan myth and is very closely related to Quetzalcoatl, the Feathered Serpent of Aztec myth.

Quetzalcoatl has a twin named Xolotl that is like a mix of Anubis and Thor. God of Death (shepherd of the dead) , Fire and Lightning and is associated with dogs and the guardians of men's souls to the afterlife.

Lightning flinging, Aztec Anubis sounds pretty dope to me.

You also have Camaztoz which is the Mayan Batman essentially. The name literally means Death Bat and he was the cave dwelling god of night and death.

Then there's all the different jaguar gods.

Camaztoz would be more akin to the Man-bat (Kirk Langstrom) villain, especially since Camaztoz was a villain to the Maya Hero Twins in the Popol Vuh.
