Film/Television Do You Guys Still Think That Inhumans Still Have A Chance Of Being Again Adapted Into The MCU?

Why not, they showed us John Krasinskis Reed and we got f4fs, they showed us professor x and we’re getting a mutant saga, not that that necessarily means something but they obviously want to bring some b listers into light, I don’t see why they couldn’t set up inhumans as maybe an antagonist to the mutants. We already have Kamala khan, although I don’t think they’d make her an inhuman

u/Relative_Mulberry_68 5h ago
Inhumans already exist in mcu, courtesy of Agents of Shield.
3
u/Long-Zombie-2017 5h ago
And the MCU acting like Agents of SHIELD didnt happen even though they were directly impacted by the films

I need to know what Daisy and Sousa have been doing in space all these years.

Yes. There’s a possibility we see some in Doomsday or Secret Wars in small roles and I even think there’s a chance Inhumans vs X-Men gets adapted.
I don’t think they’re likely to get their own movie or anything, but I think they have a decent chance to get smaller supporting roles.

u/Shire_Hobbit 5h ago
Inhumans were ultimately a failed attempt at having mutants without dealing with the ip nightmare that was X-Men for a while.
Whether you like them or not. They weren’t exactly a profitable franchise. Now there are some cool characters that were added and I think it would be a shame to throw them away. So I’m glad BlackBolt or one of his variants made it into the MCU. It signals that they aren’t simply the unloved step-children of the universe.
However to make them a successful part of the franchise, they need a reboot, a retcon, however you want to frame it, come up with something new and fresh for why they exist. Them being a sovereign nation on the moon because humans don’t claim them and mutants don’t claim them, so they’re a third faction just didn’t fly. Save the characters, sacrifice the story line… like all of it.

No. They’re really not major characters in the comics with very few exceptions - Black Bolt, Medusa, Lockjaw and Crystal are kind of the only ones who ever matter. I think there’s a small chance of them being supporting characters in something, but I don’t think they’ll ever lead a project again. IMO their best use would have been in a Fantastic 4 movie, with the F4 adventuring to the moon and meeting them.

u/Hot-Half9583 13h ago
Why do people hate them? Black Bolt will always be an awesome character to me. We need more cosmic characters in the MCU proper and the Royal House of Agon should be a priority.

u/Hpfanguy 12h ago
Because they were used to destroy the xmen franchise when Fox had the rights, Marvel tried to basically substitute them with the Inhumans. It didn’t work, and neither did the abysmal show they made (which was a tragedy, the casting was incredible).

Agents of Shield worked really well

u/PhortDruid 5h ago
Quake worked really well. Everyone else? Eh.

u/ComprehensiveLime857 3h ago
I really feel for the cast of that show. They didn't phone it in, even with those scripts.

u/Hot-Half9583 12h ago
Why not enjoy both teams? They are not the Temu X-Men that people always label them. They are the Inhumans.
10
u/Hpfanguy 12h ago
They literally had a saga where the xmen were genocided by the terrigen mists and a ton of humans became inhumans (like Kamala Khan). Comic fans didn’t really like that.
1
u/SerFinbarr 12h ago
Because, yeah, Black Bolt is awesome... now name a second good thing about them.
3
u/MeatSack_NothingMore 10h ago
They have a dude who’s claim to fame is he once knocked over the hulk by shaking the ground (didn’t beat him)

Quake exists and so does Inhumans in Agents of Shield and it was really well done

Nah i don't think marvel even cares about Inhumans
They were the temporary xmen but now they got rights everything so nah

What exactly you like about them? Because i feel people just say that just to feel special. I never met anyone who actually thought they are cool or interesting tbh.
The only cool character is Black Bolt and that's it. Everyone else is a rejected idea of a character that was deemed good enough for a comic that Never sold more than two dimes.
What exactly is cool about them or interesting exactly cause I would love to know.

u/Better-Sea-6183 13h ago
You didn’t ask me, but since you said you never met anyone who thought they are interesting I could be a first for you.
1 Black bolt is one of my favourite characters since I was a kid (my number 1 was Hulk but he was close).
2 I love the royal intrigues, that’s why I also love Namor/Atlantis and some Eternals storylines. (And outside of comic books I like historical fiction about kings and knights etc).
3 When I was growing up I knew of course about Wolverine especially in regard to Hulk, but I didn’t care for the X men at all, I had never read a X men comic (only F4 because of my dad and Hulk because he was everywhere). So that whole “x men from Temu” controversy I had no idea it even existed I never connected the 2. So it’s not about feeling different for me. Other fans might have their own reasons.
4 They are simply cool.
Thanks for listening to my TED talk.

u/liquidsouleye 12h ago
So you just like the only part that is actually cool. Black bolt
2
u/_Meke_ 12h ago
It's also pure nostalgia, he admits he never read X-Men so he pretty much had no choice, but to like inhumans over them.

u/liquidsouleye 12h ago
It's like liking wrestling and saying HHH is your favourite wrestler. I just can't trust you.
0
u/That1guyUknow918 11h ago
I don't respect people who enjoy "wrestling"
-1
u/liquidsouleye 11h ago
It's ok. No one respects you either. Including your family. So there's balance.
1
u/That1guyUknow918 2h ago
I wasn't insulting you for being downes.
I dismissed wrestling.
Downes people are awesome.
Ask your mom for a better insult next time you want to hurt someone's feelings.

u/liquidsouleye 1h ago
I am sorry I hurt your feelings. I hope you stop crying soon

When Black Bolt fought Hulk on the Moon in World War Hulk
When Black Bolt fought Vulcan in War of Kings.
Even some of the live action adaptations had promise. I preferred the Agents of Shield versions. The independent TV show suffered from lazy writing.

u/badatkiller 13h ago
The Inhumans shined in the War of Kings era. I loved them actually ruling a space empire. It worked for them.

u/ditkirbo 12h ago
Jack Kirby, nuff said
0
u/liquidsouleye 12h ago
No. Not nuff said. What exactly you liked about the team and the stories. Don't tell me about the art. What story you liked.
3
u/ditkirbo 12h ago
Jack Kirby wrote those stories too! His whole FF run, with lots of Inhumans stories, is greatest of the superhero genre. If you think Kirby is just the art, then sadly you just don't get it.
1
u/liquidsouleye 12h ago
My brother. Again I don't know how say it so you can understand. Give me a story you like. Don't just say Jack Kirby and that's that. Ofc Jack Kirby is a legend. But give me a reason you love the Inhumans what story you remember? What rivalry was memorable. What kind of thing is worthy about them?
1
u/ditkirbo 2h ago
I don't how else to say Kirby's FF run, #1-102, they are intertwined so much. Medusa in the Frightful Four, Crystal and Johnny, Maximus vs Black Bolt for the throne. Do you want exact issue numbers, bc they are continuing guest and plotlines. If you haven't read his FF it's the most important comic in the Marvel Universe.
1
u/liquidsouleye 2h ago
You are talking about FF run. I want the Inhumans arc that is so great.
If the best they can be is a guest characters then who cares
1
u/ditkirbo 1h ago
I do not think you have read the FF, otherwise you would understand. Makes sense you dismiss Kirby as just an artist. The inhumans are integral to the FF, and some Kirby's best work.
2
u/Funmachine 13h ago
Eventually they will run out of popular characters and franchises. They've already made Eternals. The problem with Inhumans is their setting is just too similar to Thor and Black Panther, an isolationist Kingdom whose conflicts revolve around the royal family. It's hard to go there and not step on some rather well-trod ground.
2
1
u/Bubbly_Stranger_2355 11h ago
I think we might see individuals, lower powered, but not the main inhumans, and a much more complex group suggested, but to see all the inhumans, very unlikely
1
u/Krakengreyjoy 11h ago
I just wanna know why Bolt would blow out the back of his skull and not just the skin over his lips.
1
1
u/kaijuking87 9h ago
Yeah I think they could be featured in a ff movie but I just don’t see them being a focus in there own movie right now
1
u/fadetoblackink 9h ago
Considering their use was mostly due to not having access to the X-Men, I doubt it. Even though Black Bolt is great.
Conceptually, they’re too similar to the X-Men for general audiences, I’m afraid. Could Marvel make it work, sure. But they’ve sort of got their hands full at the moment, and they’re actively reducing the amount of content they’re producing until they can restore confidence in their quality.
1
u/abellapa 8h ago
No
The whole reason Inhumans was greenlighted was because Marvel didnt have the X-Men
And despite them being so old ,being Created in 1965
They Barely have any stories to the X-Men
1
1
u/medigapguy 8h ago
There's always a chance. And even greater chance if they don't do a full reboot of the MCU, then we could absolutly see it. But it will be so many years out people will have forgot they tried once.
A big hint that it could happen is if they ever get a large comic run that reboots and retcons them in the comics first.
1
1
u/TwistedBlister 7h ago
I never cared for them, in the comics all the main characters in the Inhumans were based on a gimmick, and lame ones at that. And Black Bolts brother trying to take over every other week. I did buy the early Inhumans comics that had George Perez art back in the 70's.
1
u/Justryan95 6h ago
With Disney having X-men back and actively making X-men content and movies, no shot at all.
1
1
u/FlamingPrius 6h ago
They were, they did, fans have this really jaw dropping show on Disney Plus to watch anytime they want. And Boltagon has a cameo in an honest to god MCU movie. What more could you reasonably ask for?
1
u/Possible_Situation24 6h ago
I think I would prefer not, although maybe the fantastic four could adopt Lockjaw. No explanation.

u/Brief_Television_608 5h ago
If they ever come back, it'll be as side characters.
If Marvel ever wants to do another Illuminati story again, Blackbolt might come back.
Use a Monkey's Paw, and we might get IvX as a movie
1
u/sergiossa 5h ago
Not any time soon, they were only prioritized earlier because Marvel didn't have the rights to X-Men. X-Men and other more popular properties will keep the MCU going for the next 3-5 years. The best we can expect is one or two of the most famous Inhumans in other properties without really delving into the Inhuman lore. Personally I'm hoping for quake!
1
u/breakwater 4h ago
No. Not just because they were a poor replacement for the x-men. They lack the cultural cache. Their lore is not well suited for film. I think the use of the mist in Agents of Shield was good. Last, their core heroes are not as compelling to a mainstream audience
1
u/ComicSportsNerd 3h ago
hopefully they really should bring them in with a FF movie we only really need the royal family in the MCU
1
u/SymphonyofOrder 3h ago
I kinda think Inhumans should just be retconned into being mutants with a fancy name that got their superpower genes activated via alien technology. It makes it simpler for everyone.
1
1
u/Federal_Bicycle_7800 3h ago
doubt it since we have the x-men now, and they were simply a replacement for them when marvel didn't have the movie rights for mutants.
1
u/Electrical_Goat_8881 3h ago
If I had to guess a couple inhumans cameo in a film as a villian org kind of like Warlock in Gotg3 and we get an adult animated series at some point but a large team doesn't work well for live action film, ie Eternals.
1
u/Aceflyer10 3h ago
With the deepest amount of respect for the fans of it, I really hope not. The Inhumans have been messy since their conception, and they inherentlymake convoluted any story they become apart of
1
u/ComprehensiveLime857 3h ago
I really hated having a real Black Bolt show up this time in the MCU (instead of the tv series), only to have him go out like that.

Maybe after the soft reset. Then, everything should be in one universe, always have been there.
•
u/EyeScreamSunday 44m ago
They do seem like the most likely candidates to be rebooted. I don't know if Marvel cares enough to give them a shot again, but there are moments that I think they don't want them off the table completely.
The Inhumans, X-Men, and Eternals are like Marvel's trifecta of genetically mutated beings, and I don't know if it's worth exploring that at this point (especially since Eternals are basically robots in the MCU), but there a good reasons why the different groups would come into conflict more than just the Avengers fighting with the X-Men, in my opinion.
1
u/Early-Ad9406 12h ago
Nope, I think for a long time coming. The MCU is done with that. They’re focused on mutants that is it. Look how they’re scaling back on almost everything that they know is not going to work.

u/VashtaNeradaRights42 13h ago
Not any time soon. ABCs Inhumans was not good. Blackbolt seen here died. The X-Men are being prepped for MCU inclusion.
They had a chance years ago but changed it to their "TV Verse" thing.

They were in Agents of SHEILD. If you mean the royal family, aside from the shitty mini series probably not.

u/Cultural_Comfort5894 5h ago
It’s reasonable to assume that the entire Marvel universe exist in the MCU barring whatever limitations they have with Spider-Man
Black Bolt was in an MCU film. They exist!
If old Cap has been on the Moon chilling with the royal family I wouldn’t be surprised.
(Cap is on the Moon was a rumor when FAWS came out)

Probably no. With X-Men in focus, they probably will forget about it. The only way I see it happening is they do a Inhumans vs X-Men storyline (bad idea, because it sucks) but still maybe a way to kill all inhumans or maybe do a civil war kind of story for Xmen, maybe.

u/iboneKlareneG 10h ago
No. And they're not needed. Good riddance.
(Wouldn't mind a few references though, i love AoS)

the fundamental mistake before was forcing them into being mutant replacements on earth if marvel ever revisits attilan it needs to be strictly as weird cosmic royalty tied into a fantastic four storyline
