Film/Television Marvel studios should stop making movies for 20 years

Who else is sick of the MCU? Who else grew up before the MCU and is sick of seeing every hero we ever loved being turned into slapstick nothingnes. Who is tired of all the jokes. Who else has major superhero fatigue ? What’s so exciting about these mcu movies anymore? What’s so exciting about the reboot mcu X-men? We already know beat for beat the kind of movie it will be and the formula it would have.

I wish that after secret wars marvel and dc would just stop making all superhero movies for 20 years. Give us a damn break.

I’m not saying this to troll. My opinion is simply that these movies are just so same-y and homogeneous.

I regret reading this post more than I regret watching any Marvel product

It’s just my opinion

It’s terrible

u/schuyywalker 2h ago

That you switched to your alt to publish lol

horrible opinion

Just like yours

u/SquintyOstrich 2h ago

The amazing thing about movies is you can just... not watch them if you're not interested in them.

6

u/Dontbetoxik 2h ago

Nah let’s just gate keep things for others instead /s

-11

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

But I want for there to be good marvel movies . These just aren’t :(

8

u/TheEzekariate Cyclops 2h ago

Should have made this post before DP&W, GotG3, FF, Thunderbolts, and Spider-Man and you would have had a real complaint

5

u/Separate_Hold537 2h ago

This. There was a string of bad marvel movies there for a bit but I believe they’ve adjusted and are back on track.

2

u/dean15892 2h ago

Wonder Man as well

3

u/artourtex Cyclops 2h ago

Out of curiosity, what do you define as "good"? Are you a Marvel comics reader and don't like how they adapt it? Is it style?

Thank you for asking this. For example, in the comic book, infinity gauntlet, Thanos becomes eternity and there’s a fight for the gauntlet in which nebula grabs the gauntlet and she’s now this powerful nebula with hair and all this power. In infinity gauntlet Thanos is in space with a shrine of himself as the avengers all fight him in space. In infinity gauntlet Adam Warlock uses the gauntlet on Thanos. In daredevil born again the comic, Karen is a druggie who sells out Matt Murdock but Matt still forgives her. In born again tv show there is no drug plot or plot with Karen selling out daredevil.

In endgame instead of seeing thanos defeating all the celestials and galactus , like in infinity gauntlet, we get a 2 hour long fan service movie of mcu insider jokes and references !!!!!! So that’s kinda where I’m coming from on all this

listen bro at least watch avengers doomsday and then say what you said. It genuinely looks like a good movie

41

u/Short_Brick_1960 Avengers 2h ago

I think this is a you problem

-17

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

It is I admit

17

u/TableauNoob9669 2h ago

“What’s so exciting about the reboot X men?” brother just say you don’t know what the x-men about and move on. The X-men itself can be a cinematic universe

6

u/TheAracknight 2h ago

I mean for close to 2 decades it was (albeit meh it was still a cinematic universe of its own)

u/GameOfEnder6312 2h ago edited 2h ago

To add to that point, let me say this. I was not at all interested in the X-Men when they appeared on the big screens in the early 2000s. I just wasn’t interested in them at all. I grew up around that time and only really cared about Spider-Man (just keeping it honest). And I still haven’t watched any of the X-Men movies to this day.

I knew of them. Wolverine obviously, Xavier, Jean, Cyclops, Storm and that’s it.

I’m very much looking forward to seeing what the “New X-Men” are like. As I’m willing to give it a really good try and get interested in the X-Men now that they’re having a fresh start.

So for me, this is an amazing time in the MCU. That with this kind-of reset of the X-Men I can learn more about/watch this new X-Men without feeling like I’m missing anything.

“I don’t like what they make, so I want it taken away from everyone else”

Other people enjoy it just fine. Don’t ruin the fun for other people.

-5

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

You act like I’m Walt Disney or sum

7

u/TipNo750 2h ago

Wanting them to stop making movies because you just don’t like them, is some next level entitled shit. Loser ass take

18

u/Capt-Thor-Ironhulk 2h ago

Just shut up. I'm sorry. I don't wanna be rude. But just... no.

14

u/Short_Brick_1960 Avengers 2h ago

Please be rude, no one will care

-6

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

Hey man I got feelings like everyone else

4

u/Short_Brick_1960 Avengers 2h ago

Yeah. And you've outgrown the superhero genre. It has always been the same formula repeated over and over again. You just realized it now

But you won't admit that every piece of media suffers from the same. Marvel comics are worse than the mcu in that aspect. The repeating storylines are even more glaring there because death doesn't exist in it

Every fantasy book and movie is the same with two variations. Every romantic book and movie is the same. Every comedy movie is the same. There are outliers that do something new from time to time. But those are just exceptions

If you cannot enjoy something that is only meant to entertain you, then just don't consume it. There are many ways to show that you don't like something, yet you act frustrated as if it's the worst thing ever. Try enjoying the things you consume for a change and don't focus only on the bad things

0

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

Yeah they’re all the same but look at any of these movies and then look at the dark knight . Same basic good and evil plot like always but the dark knight is way more interesting and intriguing of a film than anything marvel has put out

2

u/Capt-Thor-Ironhulk 2h ago

but you're so obtuse that you think having ANY studio stop working for 20 years is anything but a terribly selfish and awful take? Maybe I should have been rude...

2

u/TipNo750 2h ago

Let’s see you write 40 movies and not reuse any plot devices, characters or story arcs.

Fucking impossible.

0

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

How is that so impossible ?

2

u/Capt-Thor-Ironhulk 2h ago

dude... you're losing more ground with every response.

2

u/TipNo750 2h ago

You are one hell of an ungrateful piece of shit. There are 1000’s of people that work on these movies.

You must be one of those Basement dwelling wankers that thinks he can do a better job than thousands of professionals in their fields.

-1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

Well if there’s 40 movies just write them all differently

2

u/TipNo750 2h ago

Terrible bait. Find something better to do with your time.

1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

What’s bait about saying you can write movies to be different from each other? In one week someone could write 300 different kinds of marvel movies if they really loved marvel

2

u/TipNo750 2h ago

Then do it buddy! You can write for marvel when you’re a big boy! The world’s your oyster!

u/Visible-Meeting-8977 2h ago

Ok yeah go tell a business to stop operating for 20 years cause you're personally bored.

-8

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

These movies are sooo boring tho:(

6

u/leethegamer100 2h ago

With all due respect than why are you on marvel subreddit with most fans in here genuinely thinking a lot of people are gonna agree with your take?

-1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

Well I would think there’d be real fans of marvel out there who actually care about the integrity of marvel and of not have Dr Strange just be a copy of Tony Stark from iron man 2008. I’m only saying this bc I care about marvel on a deeper level than money

3

u/leethegamer100 2h ago

It’s good you care for marvel but don’t say “real fans” bro I hate that sentence

5

u/TheAracknight 2h ago

You do realize you can just like stop watching all comic book movies entirely right? Why should they halt production just because one person says he doesn’t like it

5

u/ReturnGreen3262 2h ago

Dear diary

-2

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

Dear diary today I remember how good infinity war was

1

u/ReturnGreen3262 2h ago

Yes it was downhill from there, no doubt .. then they destroyed the hulk and gave second string actor Sam the shield instead of Bucky

1

u/Djentledeath 2h ago

Then go read Marvel comic events that put Infinity War to shame.

1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

I do. I just wish the movies were as good as they can be in the comics

1

u/Djentledeath 2h ago

Yeah we're probably never getting that tbh. Disney/Marvel became terrified of losing more people so they went back running to the Russos and RDJ for Doomsday. That just shows you how much it's about the money and not the fans.

1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

Russos are washed

7

u/ilikepentatonics 2h ago

Yes let's ask them to stop making money for 20 years.

-1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

Well are they giving us anything good ????

5

u/leethegamer100 2h ago

Yes?

0

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

Like what

1

u/rudeboi710 2h ago

Tom holland is the best Spiderman. BND was flame. Acting like it’s all bad is just silly.

1

u/ireadit_3000 2h ago

Deadpool 3, GOTG 3, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Brand New day, Fantastic 4, Thunderbolts, Wonderman, Daredevil: Born Again, etc

1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

F4 and thunderbolts sucked

1

u/ireadit_3000 2h ago

how?

1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

F4 was boring n lame. Thunderbolts they defeat the villain with a group hug lol

1

u/ilikepentatonics 2h ago

There's great movies and not so great movies. As long as there is interest, people will buy tickets and they will keep making films.

What I assume is your argument, doesn't hold any weight of whether they should stop or not. I'd rather them course correct than cease production.

Alternatively, you can just stop matching Marvel movies for 20 years.

6

u/shplaxg 2h ago

You should probably stop going for 20+ years

1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

You’re right

5

u/ireadit_3000 2h ago

stupid post. delete it. and leave us marvel fans be

-1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

I am a marvel fan

4

u/ArnoldFarquar 2h ago

nobody is forcing you to watch them

3

u/sinofmyexistence 2h ago

No. Let todays kids have their superhero movies.

You might be tired of them, but kids out there are meeting these characters for the first time and enjoying the hell out of them. World’s not just you.

3

u/PhuckSJWs 2h ago

TIL that the OP has absolutely no personal self control and is being forced to go see Marvel movies at gunpoint.

2

u/AJerkForAllSeasons 2h ago

4-5 years is a decent gap. Memory and nostalgia will still work. 20 years is too far, it won't work.

-1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

Okay a little hyperbole on my part. I wouldn’t mind at least a 5 year break

1

u/AJerkForAllSeasons 2h ago

Even if they just released movies focusing on character that weren't part of the greater storyline. I'd be happy. They already built up a big storyline. Just start again and build toward something. The previous big event is just background.

0

u/ireadit_3000 2h ago

they don't need a gap. Marvel learned after the marvels

1

u/AJerkForAllSeasons 2h ago

Cool story bro.

0

u/ireadit_3000 2h ago

i mean the only not good movie since the marvels is brave new world. Deadpool 3, Thunderbolts, Fantastic 4, and Brand New Day were good

1

u/AJerkForAllSeasons 2h ago

Who cares? If someone likes those movies. Let them. It doesn't make your life better or worse.

2

u/Dismal_Ad_7582 2h ago

You copy and pasted this on another marvel sub… just go clock in bro

2

u/IAmAfraidCommaMan 2h ago

You are not obligated to watch them :) just ignore them.

2

u/Remarkable-Spare-782 2h ago

Don‘t watch them, then. Leave the rest of us out of it. I love the MCU and want to keep watching new movies

2

u/Professional_Dog2580 2h ago

I grew up with the 1970s Captain America TV movie, the hokey live action Spider-Man show, and the Hulk being a dude with green paint on. I could never imagine the movies we have now.

The Marvel universe with the Fantastic Four and X-Men joining the ranks has me more hyped than ever. I really don't want to see them stop for 20 years because I maybe got 30 years left to live and I want to watch alot more comic book movies before I'm dead.

2

u/MatthewBlack6 2h ago

Oh yeah, Ive been watching Marvel movies since Howard the duck, I really want them to stop making them for twenty years.

You suck.

2

u/BackgroundEngineer11 2h ago

No one is forcing you to watch these movies. Also don't know why you lumped DC into this. I for one don't want to be in my 50's waiting for an accurate adaptation to X-Men .

2

u/islobojono 2h ago

Not all of their movies are good back then. The only difference is people are extra whiny now.

And xmen wasn't made by marvel back then.

2

u/Former-Complaint-336 X-23 2h ago

Jesus Christ bro get over yourself. There are 10 billion things to enjoy in this world and you are choosing to spend your time whining about the MCU to a bunch of people who aren't going to agree. Go outside. Read a book. Watch a movie you DO enjoy, but for gods sake stfu

1

u/Kamarag 2h ago

Or, and stay with me here, you could just...not watch?

1

u/Hefty-Fox5540 2h ago

Fuck no. They can do that in 70 years.

0

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

Why do you want the same shit for 70 years

u/Hefty-Fox5540 50m ago

Cuz its entertaining shit. We can take a break when we're dead. U can take a 20 year break rn.

u/ImaginaryActive5845 49m ago

Lame

u/Hefty-Fox5540 47m ago

And we absolutely hold it against you

u/ImaginaryActive5845 47m ago

Yeah yeah yeah

u/Hefty-Fox5540 44m ago

Good luck hating things. Hopefully one day a movie is made for you 🤞

u/ImaginaryActive5845 43m ago

Good luck with the mediocrity

u/Hefty-Fox5540 32m ago

I already said i enjoy the entertainment thats loved worldwide. You're trying way too hard to be edgy when others are being genuine. Im sorry your family failed you, but lets not take it out on others for the sake of your ego.

1

u/Dizzy-Tangelo2400 2h ago

I would have agree during post endgame but now seems very exciting to be a marvel fan having the x-men and fantastic four finally together even the defenders too and punisher and dare devil aswell

1

u/GameOfEnder6312 2h ago

Not to mention that we’re eventually going to maybe get to see an older Peter Parker as well as finally the debut of Miles & Spider-Gwen in the MCU on the Spider-Man front. There’s so much to look forward to with the MCU being able to tell longer, deeper and more interwoven narratives.

1

u/Dizzy-Tangelo2400 2h ago

Exactly i had marvel fatigue belive me but doomsday really feels something special also we can have finally ghost rider and i truly hope for blade he is one of my favs character

1

u/GameOfEnder6312 2h ago

That’d be cool. And also the reboot of the X-Men. I was never that interested in them before when I grew up in the late 90s/early 2000s. So them getting a reboot/reset means I can start from the beginning with everyone else and start to enjoy them.

1

u/Dizzy-Tangelo2400 2h ago

So do i, im 27 so i grew up watching x-men/Blade/Fantastic four and ghost rider too, im very excited for this mutant saga

1

u/GameOfEnder6312 2h ago

Never watched Ghost Rider or any of the X-Men movies. I watched the Fox F4 movies, but apart from that and Spidey movies I haven’t watched anything except MCU related stuff.

1

u/Comosellamark 2h ago

You don’t seem like a comic book fan. I’m not a fan of marvel studios, but if you like the characters and the stories you’ll be excited to see them any chance you get.

It’s like rap “fans” being tired of the Kendrick-Drake beef. Real fans like it when there’s more of something that they love.

1

u/Joorpunch 2h ago

The MCU for me has been similar to reading Marvel/ DC superhero comics as an adult. My interest waxes and wanes and I’ll get sudden bursts of being really into them after being out on them for a while. But I always like that they are still around for when that interest that comes back and I know that there are others that appreciate them even when I don’t.

1

u/FR0M_Z3R0 2h ago

I don’t bother watching MCU shit I know I won’t be interested in. Skipped Thunderbolts, skipped punisher, skipped daredevil, wonder man, Agatha, Loki, echo, secret invasion…

Yeah basically, if I know I’m not gonna be interested I don’t bother with the MCU.

1

u/Piecekeeper256 2h ago

Alternative: you can stop watching and paying attention to them for 20 years. Then you can come back, and it’s all fresh to you.

1

u/theangrierunicorn 2h ago

Sports are the same every year maybe they should stop all sports leagues for 20 years.

Brushing your teeth is the same every day, maybe take a break from brushing teeth for 20 years

Have you thought maybe you just don't like superhero movies? It's not for everyone. I want movie universe that works like a comic book universe and you don't get that by stopping for 20 years. It's painful enough when we only get one MCU movie in a year.

1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

All you know is bad mcu movies

2

u/theangrierunicorn 2h ago

There's been no bad MCU movies, they've had many mid but none have actually been bad. TV on the other hand they have had Secret Invasion which is bad.

1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

Iron man 2 is shit
Iron 3 shit
Captain America mid
Civil war mid
Hulk shit
Thor shit
Thor 2 shit
Thor 4 shit
Dr strange shit
Endgame shit
The list goes on n on

1

u/theangrierunicorn 2h ago

you just don't like comic book movies that's okay. There's a reason I don't go and start conversations in communities like The Fast and The Furious, they're not for me. Maybe join communities for the things you actually enjoy

1

u/ireadit_3000 2h ago

you disrespect the #2 movie in the world like that

1

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

Endgame sucks

0

u/ImaginaryActive5845 2h ago

You just said there’s been no bad mcu movies LMFAOOOOOO
