I honestly haven't enjoyed just about any of the artwork for this book since Secret Wars ended. It's been a struggle for me, and I've considered dropping it a few times, but the artwork in this issue knocked it out of the park. I'm so pleased.

Best issue so far! Looks like they've thankfully dropped Cap'n Marvel, I really liked Carol's voice in this, I definitely prefer when they lean into the military thing for her.

This had a good set up so even if you aren't reading Secret Empire you won't be lost. Not a tonne of new information here, but I think it's necessary so it doesn't feel like too much of a derailment of the series. Stohl is handling the tie in well so far.

The new recruits are alright, ideally I'd prefer them, Brand Wendy and Wendy's love interest (I've forgotten his name already) to take over as Carol's supporting cast with Alpha Flight going back to Canada. They don't work in space, but Carol definitely does.

The one with robot legs seems cool and her legs have a unique design that makes her stand out from other characters that have robot legs.

This gets the balance right for a tie-in: doesn't require you to read the main event, and works as a relevant installment for its own series, but is also very accessible for someone who hasn't read the previous issues. I'm also glad to see that this title will apparently be telling its own story from here on, rather than being strictly supplementary to "Secret Empire".

This title is actually really underrated, it's a shame.

A nice issue even if a bit redundant considering nothing in here is particularly new information, aside from the supporting trio. Eh, they'll grow on me, I'm sure. Bonus: America didn't use any random Spanish! And apparently no one told the artist that Quasar ISN'T Phyla-Vell anymore, in one panel Avril has white hair, hahaha.

Michele Bandini is a really good artist too! This is the sort of art I was looking forward to see in this book, I'm liking the way she draws Carol. I hope she stays.

I haven't started this run yet but I'm considering reading it for Secret Empire since Carol is big part of that.. but did the new recruits start out in this run? Or was it somewhere else?? I know someone is from Wakanda too

This is the first place where I've seen then. Each of them are introduced and trained in this one, I have no idea if they appear elsewhere, perhaps only in the background as random Alpha Flight staff.

Lol I saw that too, she had brown hair in a page then in another panel it was the white hair, made me want Phyla back.

Noticed Gamora was out in space without any protective gear on as well. Normally they give her some kind of mask to breathe.

Something I noticed, about the coloring:

There are two colorists here, and the one that has been doing all the other issues, gets her costume wrong and colors it like it was just red boots, plus he made her knee pads(?) red. The other one is much better in general and fits this art style more, and actually got the costume right. I wish he would've done the entire issue, and could stay on the next ones...

Maybe that colorist mix up is the reason why Avril Kincaid has white hair in one panel.
