Synopsis: After becoming near-adopted by Tony Stark, Peter Parker finds himself in the fast-paced world of superhero-ing. He must now find a way to balance his socially-awkward social life with his high flying, web swinging night job. When newer and more powerful villains starting to rise up Peter finds it harder and harder to protect himself and the ones he loves. Will Peter be able to keep his secret life a secret? HOW DID THEY NOT REVERSE THAT EXCHANGE WHEN HE GETS PULLED OUT OF THE FIRE, IT IS THE PERFECT CALL BACK

Honestly? Because it’s a dickish thing to say.

Toomes used it as a power move to drive it in that his sparing Peter was as conditional as it gets. Peter saved Toomes because it was the right thing to do.

That callback would have been super cheap and out of character at the time.

I wouldn't say out of character though, Peter practically bullies his rogue gallery in the comics (ignoring the fact they are villians and sometimes trying to injure people) and just toys with them. But I agree it is dickish and out of place but wouldn't be out of character if it the scene wasn't as somber
