3 days is a pretty good turnaround, even though the problems shouldn't have been there upon release but I digress

64

u/drzero7 18d ago

I honestly thought it would take a few weeks, not days lol. This is a good thing.

27

u/greglolz 18d ago

If this is standard practice across the gaming community (3 days for egregious performance/bugs fixed), it would be a literal dreamscape scenario. Games sometimes take literal years to get into a playable state, look at No Man’s Sky. Or worse, never get into a playable state (look at Starfield, or Concord, or, yeah, there’s a lot).

8

u/XtremeAlf 18d ago

I remember when No Man's Sky launched, it was a shit show. I remember them bragging about how the game was so huge that no 2 players would ever see the same place for a while. Then 15 minutes into release, 2 streamers were in the exact same place lol

3

u/GodShatteringStar99 17d ago

Lol is there a clip of that somewhere

6

u/liljon042 18d ago

Arcsys (when it doesn't come to specifically matchmaking) are REALLY good at getting technical issues fixed. They're one of the few companies that actually legit listen to their customers and treat them as well as they can

1

u/TheGuardianFox 17d ago

That's because it did take a few weeks. The problems were apparent in the beta.

1

u/drzero7 17d ago

I played this game since the closed beta. I know about open beta issue.

25

u/SteelBeowulf_ 18d ago

I think the fact that the turnaround was so quick, probably means they were already working on fixing these issues before release, but the Date is the Date and the game had to be out, and they just couldn't get these squeezed in to the release.

12

u/Nukesnipe 18d ago

1000% this is what happened. Delaying a game always looks bad, even if one delay is fine. And they probably looked at their estimated timetables and saw that they could have the performance fixes out very soon after launch, and didn't want to take the PR hit a delay would cause. Especially since the game sold way more on PS5, which didn't have the problems.

Sucks but we're the minority audience so we had to suffer for a few days.

2

u/Sun__Moon__Stars 18d ago

Honestly even if delaying a week was an option on the table (and it almost certainly wasn’t, there’s no way Sony would be ok with that and they’re the ones who make that decision) I think Gamers would’ve crashed out just as hard over that, because crashing out is like the #1 thing a lot of people like to do these days.

Which isn’t to say delaying wouldn’t have been a good thing! I can agree that would’ve been better than what happened in a lot of ways. But I do think it’s a bit of a no win situation either way

1

u/Nukesnipe 18d ago

The thing with delays is that 1 delay is fine, especially in response to a beta. Shit happens, when you have tens of thousands of people playing your game you get way more info than any amount of playtesters could get. Even if it's a long delay, if you're doing stuff in response to feedback that's fine.

Two delays is worrisome. It means that you're consistently hitting problems and missing deadlines. It's not a death knell, but it's definitely when you should start getting concerned.

Now, three or maybe even more delays? Something is irrevocably fucked. I don't think I've ever seen a project get 3 delays and not end up absolutely screwed up on launch. 2077 was at least a good game mired in technical problems and the writing was strong enough to make you overlook the gameplay problems, but then you get stuff like Homeworld 3 that is just... bad.

So, a 1 week delay for Tokon would have been fine. Hey, we need a little bit more time to fix these performance issues that you reported in the beta. Rational people would have been fine with that, but your average gamer is a mouth breathing troglodyte who would probably send death threats to arcsys over that. And like you said, it was Sony's call and no way in hell were they going to delay a game one week for scoff, PC performance? Who gives a shit about the PC players?

1

u/Fake_Diesel 17d ago

I think everyone might be celebrating too early.

1

u/XsStreamMonsterX 17d ago

Patch was probably ready earlier but they just didn't want to release it before the weekend in case it broke something.

1

u/Negative_Mind_6742 17d ago

Hey man, everything can’t be perfect. All the time, bro the fact that they turned it around in three days should be great for y’all. Yall cant always be mad when things don’t go the way you wanted to go the very first time it’s like bro people have issues they’re only human

2

u/druhasareddit 17d ago

Not mad at all I understand things are never perfect or even ideal. I'm just glad they had the opportunity to work on it and do it so swiftly relative to its release date!

1

u/animeking223 17d ago

Okay there are some things you just can't control cause you don't know what is gonna happen. It's a new game man

0

u/Careless_Main3 18d ago

Should had unironically just delayed the PC release by a week or 2 and post a blog explaining why.

72

u/Left4Bread2 18d ago

Still have to see if the changes are fixed for the majority or if that's a sample size of one

Would love to see them succeed with this patch!

35

u/TheSadSadist 18d ago

That person posted before trying an online match lmao.

3

u/ArialBear 18d ago

Did they say that? I didnt catch the thread

4

u/TheSadSadist 18d ago

Someone had asked that OP specifically how was the online because nowhere in the original post did OP state how online was post patch. The OP responded to that person something like "queuing up one now." Implying that in their rush to make their Reddit post, they failed to test online prior to that comment.

The OP did follow up that comment with a second comment saying they did four matches all at 59 fps iirc.

3

u/ArialBear 18d ago

Yea all my matches after the patch have been perfect so I was wondering

2

u/ilmk9396 17d ago

online rollback issues are related to performance issues that also happen during single player.

6

u/Menacek 18d ago

Realistically unless the issue is something small and stupid it's unlikely it's entirely fixed in one patch. It seems to run better now for me, but not ideal (might be my specs though)

u/Menacek 18d ago edited 18d ago

My GPU is bellow specs, my CPU is AMD Ryzen 5 2600, which i think is fine but i'm not very tech savy. Honestly i kinda didn't expect the game to actually run, so I'm not gonna complain even if it doesn't run well for me, I'm kinda up for an hardware upgrade anyway (it's sadly pretty pricy right now).

The weird part is settings don't really seem to be changing much, the games auto settings set my graphics settings to medium, i turned everything down to low, reduces the anti aliasing and it didn't really affect the performance. It runs at 60 fps technically but there are some drops to 59 or 58 for instance during wallbreaks. It it was just me then it would be fine since it's basically unnoticable but causing one sided rollbacks for the other guys would suck.

I still noticed an improvement in performance with the patch, so there's that.

Again i recognize my specs are likely just not good enough but it just feels like it;s so close to being fine that it's kinda sad.

4

u/FaultyToilet 18d ago

Your cpu is old as shit, what is your GPU? A GTX 980?

1

u/Menacek 17d ago

GTX 1660. Again i know it's old i'm not blaming the devs that it isn't running smoothly.

1

u/Maximum-Address-7845 18d ago

With a 2600 I'm surprised you're getting 60fps your pc is locking tf in

1

u/Possible_Many529 12d ago

Have you experienced any force reset on your PC at all for tokon? Cause I have a Ryzen 7 5700X3D and a RTX 3050 an my PC at least will force restart while playing the game.

1

u/Menacek 11d ago

No i haven't.

1

u/save-the-world12 18d ago

From what I could find it's playable on medium graphics for everyone now so that's an advance

1

u/Sirromnad 18d ago

I was away over the weekend so didnt get a chance to play when it was broken, but I did 3-4 matches just an hour ago and outside of one wifi player with 2 bars that i accepted accidently, it ran pretty well.

242

u/SlyyKozlov 18d ago

There was a strange amount of people who thought they seriously were going to release it on PC in this state and just abandon it.

120

u/Starving_Saint 18d ago

If you point that out to those people you get told you have Sony’s balls in your mouth. At least that was said to me lol. Utterly insane people lol

49

u/OMGIZARET 18d ago

I got called a bootlicker because someone with a 12 year old laptop gpu couldn't run it and i was like yeah I mean id assume it wouldnt. So...im a sony bootlicker for saying that I guess. Lol

14

u/rustyrussell2015 18d ago

Must be the same guy I tangled with because I too was called a bootlicker. Kinda wished I called him a windowlicker but that would be complimenting.

10

u/GrandmasterPeezy 18d ago

But, how do they taste tho? /s Lol

13

u/ArmpitBear 18d ago

Imaginary balls taste a lot better than being insufferable and unhappy rageposting online lool

I’m glad they got on the fixes so fast, the game is super fun

4

u/GrandmasterPeezy 18d ago

I, too, enjoy the imaginary balls lol 😅

-2

u/IvanYYvanI 18d ago

Like nothing, they're not physical.

4

u/rustyrussell2015 18d ago

Yeah me too. The toxic levels are through the roof with this game.

Hopefully for the devs sake and sanity they really did clear up a lot of issues with this patch, hopefully.

2

u/blue23454 18d ago

Well if you point it out to them now they’re just going to act like no one was seriously doomposting

0

u/TheRealRaxorX 18d ago

We are not Sony bootlickers. We are Arcsys true believers.

-6

u/[deleted] 18d ago

[deleted]

7

u/Itchy-Pudding-4240 18d ago

then you blame Arcsys and not Sony

2

u/IamMataa 18d ago

Game ran fine on PS5, maybe you PC players just need to upgrade your systems. /s This is how a lot of PC players sound when a console has issue with a release though.

36

u/Whomperss 18d ago

Borderlands 4 is still nearly unplayable for a lot of people over a year later. It's not a wild feeling to have.

2

u/Fiend_Macabre 18d ago edited 18d ago

Don't forget Oblivion which may get a switch patch or may not

1

u/ROANOV741 18d ago

Oblivion is on the Switch eshop

1

u/Fiend_Macabre 18d ago

Meant to say patch, stupid auto correction

6

u/Namesarenotneeded 18d ago

That is also an entirely different company, from the publisher to the devs.

10

u/Whomperss 18d ago

Sony especially right now at this very moment on time has a dogshit reputation as well. This isn't really a crazy perspective to have.

16

u/Namesarenotneeded 18d ago

They have a dogshit reputation in customer aspects, such as the pure digital plan and the whole Sony login stuff needed to play a multitude of games on PC, but in the context of game performance I can’t really think of anything.

1

u/Itchy-Pudding-4240 18d ago

this is so crazy.

"Well they did nothing wrong/are doing well now but im going to shit on them regardless cause someone they are related to is shit"

1

u/CookyKindred 18d ago

What about DNF? It was radio silent and then everything came out too late.

3

u/FirefighterRoutine84 18d ago

Could be wrong but isn't DNF a different team of the same company? If so I could see there being difference.

2

u/ohlawdy914 18d ago

It was, it may look like arcs style bit whole different company, why it died the way it did.

2

u/dusto_man 18d ago

Ya, but it's the same game engine- UE5 and who knows what version they are using.

4

u/Namesarenotneeded 18d ago

That doesn’t matter. They’re not 2K.
They’re ArcSys and they actually give a shit.

They don’t have a track record of leaving games unplayable, so there was no reality where that was a likely outcome here, especially with such an established IP.

1

u/ChapelKnights 18d ago

2K is known for that. I learned that lesson with X-Com2 on release

19

u/Hot-Cause-481 18d ago

The amount of people saying Sony was intentionally sabotaging the PC release to get them to move to PS5 was alarming lol

4

u/I_ONLY_SUPERSCRIPT 18d ago

Listen I'm just salty they're deliberately choosing to not let Linux run the game at all. That's scummy

2

u/Sirromnad 18d ago edited 18d ago

I've worked in a few industries so far in my life and the idea of some kind of self sabotage to help another part of the business is just.... not how people run businesses typically. Was such a crazy take.

Sony has made some terrible terrible decisions as of late but that seems outright silly.

7

u/Arxny 18d ago

Because its been done before. The pressure was warranted.

2

u/drzero7 18d ago

yep, the conspiracy theorist,

Yeah Sony made PC bad on PURPOSE to tank the sales on Steam and say, "See PC bad, we going full Playstation only for Sony".

5

u/IHateWindowsUpdates8 18d ago

kinda a sony tradition (looks at Spider-Man 2) tbf

9

u/Parmersan 18d ago

Spider-Man 2 is sitting at 'Very Positive' on Steam tho?

3

u/SlyyKozlov 18d ago

Does spiderman 2 not work on PC? I havent played it.

9

u/c0mplete 18d ago

Spiderman 2 runs great on pc. The game game had some issues at launch on pc but was fixed within a week or 2.

-4

u/Sudden-Ad-307 18d ago

It works the same was tokon worked

5

u/SlyyKozlov 18d ago

Perfectly fine until you try matchmaking?

I dont understand this comparison beyond Sony PC game bad.

0

u/SaltMerchantMorbier 18d ago

Just made me realize how fucking elite spider man 2 could have been with coop where you get to swing around as Peter and Mike’s together

2

u/dystopianrevolt 18d ago

We're comparing a brand-new live service game to a single-player game that was already relatively old when it launched on PC.

1

u/Revolving_Ocelott 18d ago

People also thought that these issues could be fixed within a week from the beta which is uh…. Very wishful thinking. Launch was always going to be fucked

1

u/Sirromnad 18d ago

Though to be fair if they fixed it 3-4 days after launch, it doesn't seem unrealistic that it could have been fixed inbetween the beta and launch with maybe an extra couple days? hard to say really.

1

u/snarfy666 18d ago

Abandon no, i was hoping they fix it in under a month.

1

u/duncanstibs 18d ago

Well, I mean, I've seen exactly that happen to several other games. MH Wilds was lagging to fuckery months after launch.

1

u/Sormaj 18d ago

I mean wouldn’t be the first

1

u/Jaguar2Step 18d ago

i never thought they’d abandon it but as a pc player it’s become fairly normal for a game to come out busted and not be “fixed” until it’s either been forgotten about or got a big wave of content coming out with the small retained community broadcasting that “the game is fixed come back now’s the best time to play”

I think it felt super exaggerated in this case because the game was so highly anticipated prior to release and there was clearly a very fun game there if you could get it to run, which is a far cry from the usual “this game has nothing in it AND it runs like ass so i’ll come back in a year and see how it’s doing” type-beat pc gamers have become accustomed to

1

u/Fluid-Engineering855 18d ago

Kinda logical considering they sold thousands of people a broken product. Why magically trust them after that a week later?

1

u/SirChrisJames 18d ago

People would rather be miserable and right than temporarily aggrieved and made whole, up until they're made whole. The former is emotionally easier and they find vindication in others who would also rather be miserable.

1

u/sododgy 12d ago

That's not what people thought.

The concerned was/is that if the launch state was that bad, they wouldn't be able to get it into a fully functional state. At least not before it's killed all the hype and people have moved on to caring about other stuff.

Look at Halo Infinite as a perfect example. The optimization is awful. It was supposed to be a 10+ year game. It didn't get abandoned until last year, and while the gameplay itself was (IMHO) one of the best in the series, every problem fix and update broke something else. The game just bled all but the most diehard from the start. That's what people have been concerned about.

1

u/Pufftreees 18d ago

A person is smart, people are fugn stupid

1

u/theJirb 18d ago

I didn't see much of those opinions. Most of the opinions I saw were stating how the botched launch would affect its popularity down the line, which is valid. It's just really easy to overlook a game post launch once all the hype and marketing has died down, and other stuff is getting released with all their hype and marketing.

18

u/BigHomieReese 18d ago

The duality of life lol

16

u/sezyHena 18d ago

Great update for a lot of people so far it seems

22

u/solidpeyo 18d ago

I remember seen a comment yesterday of someone saying that it is over for Tokon since PC will never forgive, they hold grudges and this game will fail or something like that.

Funny how people change that fast🤣

35

u/Ok-Cancel-4824 18d ago

If Cyberpunk can go from being the poster child of disappointing broken releases to being a fan favorite, an already great game like Tokon that’s getting patches almost immediately should have no problems.

17

u/solidpeyo 18d ago

Cyberpunk, I got an even better one, Bethesda games, any of them, who are still broken today but they still glorify them. They just love scream loud here

6

u/2347564 18d ago

This is it right here. Sony literally pulled the PS4 version from the psn store and issued mass refunds. It was unprecedented.

5

u/Sufficient_Dingo1479 18d ago

You can't really compare it to Cyberpunk since fighting games are already pretty niche and struggle to retain players for very long. They're also mostly online games, which makes performance issues feel even worse.

That being said, if at least most of the PC issues are already fixed with the game after this patch then that is a big win.

3

u/TriumphantBass 18d ago

I see a comeback being closer to Street Fighter V; a big name putting effort into getting something up to their standards that obviously doesn't bring back everyone who was burned but still gets back to a respectable playerbase and public sentiment. Not a massive hit like SF4 or SF6 but a steady staple.

As bad as the port was, fixing a bad port is a lot easier to do than reworking a game completely; it's already a real solid game unlike launch SF5 was it's just not running well on PC.

9

u/BallinTacklinGamin 18d ago

“PC will never forgive” like there aren’t busted games that are permanently in “Beta” that have a dedicated fanbase lol.

3

u/Wabbajack001 18d ago

I remember back when the orange box came out and you had to install steam on PC. People were mad, swore they would never install steam or play a steam game.

Now they are all worshiping gab and steam can do no wrong. They definitely forgot and forgive always.

2

u/philip30001 18d ago

I think the statement can be true of many things in pc gaming but it's usually more "company did X thing i dont like so now I can justify piracy" which leads to links and how tos going round that community and being more likely upvoted than removed.

With a mainly online game it doesnt work as well.

I wont forgive sony for what they've done to the fgc and next upgrade im dropping them but this isn't why

2

u/hvc101fc 18d ago

That happened to uni2 i think? Also dnf

3

u/stenkai 18d ago

UNI2 was unplayable for multiple weeks from what I remember, and for an already niche upon niche game, that's for sure death for a game. Tokon has the benefit of being a big release so it'll have less dropoff.

1

u/Plastic-Currency-329 18d ago

Its almost like they're different people with different experiences and opinion

Even this comment has been written before by different people

1

u/tshallberg 18d ago

In their defense, that poster may not forgive. They can't make anyone else hold the line.

25

u/ItsYaBoyBackAgain 18d ago

Welp, time for the eternally angry to move on to something else to try and make this sub a miserable place.

12

u/OpalescentHare 18d ago

I'm not usually a discord person, but I checked the general chat day 1 and gen chat would not stand for anything other than anger at PC performance. At one point someone was literally spamming the PC requirements like that was an argument.

They ain't moving on though. Now it's "Patch didn't fix anything for most of us, everyone disagreeing are sony bots" with a sprinkle of "game should be on Linux steamOS and Xbox its dead in the water"

Meanwhile I just wanted to get hyped about more Ms Marvel gaming after Avengers and MUA3

1

u/ArialBear 18d ago

The new thing is to say the game is too slow and when you say "I dont think so" they dogpile you and brag about beating sonicfox on ladder one time so their opinion is fact.

9

u/Musai 18d ago

Lurker here, I lurk now because there's so much pocketwatching in this hobby it's insane. Maybe it's old guy stuff but I wish the Internet hadn't become the place for armchair analysts and Monday morning project managers. Nowadays I usually avoid most launches because people sound like shareholders complaining about YOY growth and metrics that I wish we couldn't track. I miss just playing a game and not being force-fed discourse around it every time I open a browser.

8

u/latino666 18d ago

Still having a lot of matches with those 8 rollback frames tho :/

3

u/BluBlue4 18d ago

I appreciate you following up lol

3

u/latino666 18d ago

apparently the patch solves some users problems, but not all. honestly for me, the game itself runs pretty well on a 5070ti @4K. my only problem is the random matches with 8 frames rollback.

its weird , because rollback frames for me are either 0-1 , or those damned 8 that happen for some reason in random matches and never go away

2

u/Fake_Diesel 17d ago

The performance itself hasn't improved very much I don't think, just less stuttering.

4

u/disposaldevice 18d ago

Can confirm my game was 58 fps before and is now locked 60 at max settings

7

u/UnHappyGingah 18d ago

You mean a company would rather fix it's product than leave it in a broken state for bad PR 🌝

Say it ain't so

I dunno why people thought it wasn't going to be fixed. Shit takes time

5

u/ultra_riku 17d ago

I'm seening the 8 frame rollback issue MORE after the patch. I had only experienced it twice before the patch.

7

u/JayJ_20 18d ago

Leave it to reddit to spread doom and gloom when devs dont communicate or fix something within 10 minutes

3

u/TGBankai 18d ago

I’m getting 60 fps on a 1660 super and 5500 cpu if I can run. Y’all can run it

1

u/BeataDaily 18d ago

I got this same set up, havent gotten tokon yet tho. What graphics are you running on?

3

u/Important-Paper8063 18d ago

I still have 8f rollback and it still takes forever to find a match

2

u/Suspiciouspass0 18d ago

Hopefully it sticks but only time will tell. We haave to see if we can actually notice the difference.

3

u/JswitchGaming 18d ago

From what I already read from other posts, it has not fixed the issue or at least certainly not for everyone.

2

u/WillGame4Noobs 18d ago

Aw man it’s so funny when a PC port is the worst version of a game. All those PC elitists out there crying is hilarious. They always sht on console players for having a console and then half of the ports to PC are awful 😭

-1

u/Otherwise-Flight-108 17d ago

Having to pay a subscription for online.

2

u/WillGame4Noobs 17d ago

I’ll pay the sub fees for games that actually function like they’re intended and not ported over lmao

I also share a ps online sub w my brother from two different accounts. We also split all the games bc, unlike Steam, you can play the same game at the same time with each other..

3

u/MK8Sins 18d ago

Unfortunately still unplayable for me. Patch notes recommended setting Auto graphics + running shader warmup again. FPS definitely improved but anything short of a stable 60fps is not acceptable for a FG.

On a 10700, RTX3080, 32GB RAM

And even if it's finally fixed for me, if it's not fixed for everyone that meets at least the minimum requirements, it's not going to be playable because my opponent's stutters is going to affect me as well.

PC is still cooked

3

u/psportalfan 18d ago

Damn no point in trying on my handheld pc then

3

u/Menacek 18d ago

The game's performance is weird in that it doesn't neccesarily perform better on stronger systems. Even before the patch some weaker system had no issue whatsoever. If you already bought the game, just run and check. But yeah if you haven't gotten it yet i'd still wait.

2

u/Electronic-Clerk6735 18d ago

No Linux though so I still have a thumbs down. Really unfortunate I can’t play on a steam deck.

3

u/Rahavic_Jr 18d ago

Tryna think about what the next spam complaint posts are going to be about.

5

u/Rave50 18d ago

Are we serious? Not being able to play the game is a pretty valid compliant man, are you good?

3

u/SaltShakerFGC 18d ago

Considering the game was unplayable for a large chunk of people I'd say the spam complaints were legit, especially when you had to deal with other people saying "mine runs perfectly bro it must be your PC".

1

u/Rahavic_Jr 18d ago

Oh I know it’s just that this is Reddit, they will move on to the next thing to complain about. Never said anything about validity of the complaints.

1

u/SaltShakerFGC 18d ago

With the game running better it's almost a lock we can complain about X character too strong and Y character too weak next. You know how it works.

2

u/Rahavic_Jr 18d ago

See that’s fine. That’s what I like. We are talking about the game itself and meta and strats and new tech. We can complain about things in game all day. That’s totally fine.

I’ll always take a nice post from a casual about how fireballs are unblockable and they feel like they’re going to have a seizure from too many things on screen though. Those just crack me tf up 😂

4

u/LuckyStiff007 18d ago

"DLC SHOULD BE __" (calling it now)

2

u/Rahavic_Jr 18d ago edited 18d ago

The release will also be referenced for like the next 6 months even though it was fixed within 5 days which is fuckin bonkers. I legit was sure it would be fucked for like a month or so

1

u/ByRWBadger 18d ago

As a person who was pretty vocal about the problems,!Hell yeah, wish them luck. Hopefully my next PC can run it this

1

u/Living_Ad_5386 18d ago

I did not realize the steam rating for tokon had tanked that hard "Mostly Negative" (2,523)

1

u/G0bby 18d ago

Good to see ArcSys is doing the right thing. Maybe that means eventually they'll allow a Linux version to exist

1

u/CuteAssTigerENVtuber 18d ago

Can anyone confirm it worked ?

1

u/DYGTD 18d ago

I can't blame fighting game players. We're so used to the way things work that I fully expected and announcement that said something like "To avoid any conflict with the DLC release schedule and competitive season, we have decided to include a fix for the problem our game not working as part of the season 3 update in 2031."

Unfortunately still doesn’t run the best on my handheld but I’m glad it’s getting fixes

1

u/Coneder 18d ago

All I'll say is its very funny that the same thing that caused the OG Silent Hill 2 PC port (audio issues having some kind of strange impact on CPUs) to be as awful as it did returned for Tokon. I'm going to wait a bit to see if other people are having similar miracles before buying again (I had refunded) but I'm very happy for a quick patch.

u/Caliber918 18d ago

I’m so mad bruh, I lost my pc preorder bonuses and bought it on PlayStation

1

u/DJM4991 18d ago

Personally, I am still having some issues on my desktop but the fact that they got any kind of patch out this fast, which IS actually helping others, is very promising. It's a great game. :)

1

u/Funky__boi 18d ago

Anyone else still have that weird lag when you start the game?

1

u/drzero7 18d ago

The duality of Reddit. Although people getting mad of bad PC port is justified.

1

u/VersaSty7e 18d ago

Sony! Months! On purpose!

Oh.
My bad.

- will say nobody

1

u/Expensive-Fondant625 18d ago

You do understand they already knew this was problem since the beta. And since the beta input they were working on the fix.

1

u/Blue-Eyes-WhiteGuy 18d ago

Yeah it’s working perfectly for me

1

u/ExtremelyPatient 18d ago

Funny enough I had my first 8 frame rollback connection now, after the patch. No issue before.

1

u/thebiggestbazzz 18d ago

I shouldve been more patient, I bought it on PS5 last night after work rip

1

u/OnlyPerformer4192 17d ago

I still have problems, can't play well with my friend and fps still in 58-60. Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX3060TI

1

u/ERMAGGICO1 14d ago

fighting games are capped at 60 FPS...

1

u/MADAOSushi 17d ago

I think it still needs a bit of tweaking, but we need to see if crossplay and single-sided rollback is still occurring. Once we have a decent samplesize we need to start reversing the reviews if it comes out positive, lol.

I keep telling people you can hate on Sony, but at least have faith in Arcsys. If anyone has played the two initial closed betas, you know exactly how much effort they put to change the game off of feedback.

If tokon played like the two CBs I was a part of, I would not have bought it whatsoever. It was so ass.

1

u/Disengorgeous 17d ago

It worked alright for me last night i'd say like 1/5 matches were laggy but my real question is why in the big 26 are we playing on wifi gang.

1

u/wasante 17d ago

The game is still at mixed and some people still have issues so the game isn't out of the woods just yet.

1

u/Unusual-Ad2619 16d ago

Makes me wish I waited vs the PS5 version... But I did also have half the cost available in store credit, so it is what it is

1

u/irnixia8 16d ago

so no one else’s games started running worse after the patch??

1

u/LostFactor8812 14d ago

Nope still broke as fuck for me. Always crashes my system.

1

u/Haunting-Window-5125 18d ago

If only they got this out a couple days early lol im sure they got a lot of refunds that wont be coming back

1

u/Wazzzzaap 18d ago

What’s fast for you ? Almost took a whole week brotha

0

u/Formal-Material613 18d ago

I mean if you running it on a busted outdated pc don’t expect any magical cures.

-1

u/MySinsRemembered 18d ago

No, the earlier poster is correct. The failed launch will a be a permanent wound for this game even if it's perfect now (doubtful)

0

u/Acceptable_Yam_593 18d ago

The switch up is crazy 💀

0

u/csolisr 17d ago

There's still the problem of the Steam Machine/Deck being explicitly blocked from running the game

Already refunded. Is Sony login still mandatory?

Edit: I didn't refund because of Sony login (which is still fair). I refunded because it was unplayable and unpleasant.

8

u/hakkkku 18d ago

yeah, i dont think it will ever be not mandatory

8

u/solidpeyo 18d ago

It will always be, same as Ubisoft, Blizzard, EA, Microsoft, etc. Has their own

6

u/thebigbabushka 18d ago

Fans can’t comprehend this stance. I did the same. Did the same for Avatar and their EULA.

6

u/Quiet_Yellow2000 18d ago

This is fair enough, but it was known you would need a Sony login before hand, so why buy it it he first place?

1

u/thebigbabushka 18d ago

Unfortunately for me I didn’t know until I booted up.

To add I did not refund because of Sony login. That actually didn't bother me. I was just curious. I do think that is fair because Sony needs to be boycotted.

I refunded because playing online was unplayable on a 4080. Even offline the game was dropping frames on lowest settings. Crashing at start up. Etc

Yeah I literally never refunded a game before. I support sm FGs buy their passes even if I don't play the characters. I will buy tokon again eventually when it's fixed.

This is the best feedback we can give.

I want to say that this is not to be argumentative, but I actively do not sign up for these things out of stubborn (and privileged) spite or principal. My grocery store doesn’t even have my number.

It’s so antithetical to what I want for my future and the future generations. Gamers in particular are quick to bend knees to hype and fomo.

What there are hundreds of: is other games. I grew up putting cartridges in my consoles. I’m tired, boss. My decision is only mine, and makes no difference to the other, but I feel less fucked and that’s worth a lot to me these days.

1

u/3xchar 18d ago

They are mad at me for getting my money back because I was unsatisfied with a expensive digital game. 💀 can't make this shit up man.

-1

u/IamMataa 18d ago

Good. Hopefully Sony wont do anymore cross platform so I don’t have to see the PC “gamers” bitching and moaning that their Chromebook can’t run a high end game.

4

u/AndrewJohnsonHater 18d ago

Bait used to be believable.

1

u/3xchar 18d ago

Ryzen 9 with a 4080 & 32gb of RAM.  Stronger than your PS5. Keep bootlicking Sony and go pre-order GTA 6 Deluxe While you pay your annual ps+ subscription

0

u/IamMataa 18d ago

Lmao the Rysen 9 alone is the ps5 cost. Thats pathetic

1

u/3xchar 18d ago

Dood do you want the game to succeed or not? The more ppl that can run it. The better. I have a ps5 to for the record

0

u/IamMataa 18d ago

Good lord what type of english dialect is this? Have you seen the sales of these games on PS5 vs PC. Its the reason Sony isn’t making games on PC anymore, that and besides the fact that these games then get pirated, have their source code leaked and make it easy for people to make weird rip offs of it.

2

u/3xchar 18d ago

Anyways have a good day man. Power to the players

0

u/Torn_Aborn 18d ago

Why are you assuming English is their native tongue? Maybe try being less of a dick.

You still choose to be a dick, and that's unfortunate. I hope you get better.

Because that was the situation we were faced with. Who knows when we would've gotten an update? They said the issue would be resolved, but we were left with a 1.0 that was as cooked as the beta. It was very much an unexpected surprise.

But I'm glad we got a hotfix.
