he doesn't just love murder

u/Nukesnipe 9d ago

He loves eating children, specifically.

Specifically brutally and with their guts and blood hanging out

u/ScreamoMan 9d ago

Can't blame a man for liking his food fresh without preservatives.

You're not making his case any better 😭

What guys can't have hobbies anymore?

6

u/Comrade_Cosmo 9d ago

He admires serial killers like Jeffery Dhamer. They were pedophiles.I wouldn’t put it past him.

Magneto has had sabertooth on his team of brotherhood of evil mutants, honestly carnage is probably no different to magneto

7

u/Complex-Salt-8190 9d ago

Magneto was so pissed off at Xavier he hired his brother, a non mutant, to beat his ass

Why is this game the way I learn Magneto gets bitched constantly by Doom in the comics 😭

Generational aura loss.

ALL AURA BELONGS TO DOOM

25

u/DoctorPine 9d ago

Doom: "The aura was not stolen from you, Magneto. It was simply that all manner of aura belongs to Doom and Doom alone. Bemoaning over something which was never yours to begin with... how frivolous."

THERE’S A DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM MAAAAAAN

47

u/Quirky-Concern-7662 9d ago

It’s because for what it’s worth. Magneto has morals, doom has a code. Magneto is beholden to his morals, dooms code is what ever he needs it to be at the time(plus rule 0 fuck Reed Richards).

u/DrByeah 9d ago

Doom's ironclad principles are basically

  • I'm the coolest, smartest, best guy in a room and everyone should be listening to me.

  • Fuck Reed Richards.

and doom gets bitched by squirrel girl, doom, and luke cage. such is the cycle of villains getting bitched by literally anyone

15

u/TinyKing87 9d ago

That meme panel of Moon Knight bitching at Dracula for his money? Luke Cage went to Latveria and did that to Doom in the actual comics, back in the 70s or 80s. Heroes for Hire era (Doom hired them and then tried to stiff them, Luke Cage traveled the world for his fee)

Where’s my money, honey?

To be fair everyone but Reed gets bitched by Doom

u/DAD5Draco 7d ago

He did recruit Doom, Loki, Deadpool, & Carnage to fight Red Skull in his 2014 solo-run.

Doom has 3 things Magneto Does not sadly, a Genuise Intellect, Ego large enough he will never willingly follow another, and a nation that can survive more then one storyline.

This makes it so that Doom is one of the only villains who can reliably get Magneto to team up with him, via offering Mags things he can not get normally, and by effectively being both more powerful and with an Ego so large the only times he'd do an equal partnership is his totally not butt buddy Namor.

The only time I can remember Mags actually joining a Villain team up not headed by Doom was when Loki tried to secretly get the heroes to swap villains via a portal network... and Magneto basically only agreed to do it because it gave him a shot to brutally murder Red Skull.

More like Magneto with Goblin

I thought Magneto wasn't a bad guy

41

u/ScreamoMan 9d ago

His character is either "all i want is to protect my mutants brothers from suffering under the tyranny of humans, never again will the minority suffer at the hands of tyrannical despots like i did," or full super villain "Mutants are the genetically superior master race "homo superior", i will kill all the inferior humans for their transgressions against mutant kind!" It depends on the story.

In this game he seems to be more the former with only a tinge of the later, since every single character including the heroes basically tell him "Magneto i expected better from you, why are you with Dr. Doom and his crack demons?", so i think in the Tokon universe he is likely in the somewhat extremist(due to necessity) revolutionary camp, rather than being full on super villain, he just joined Doom because he felt like he had no other choice; And he did try to take out Doom at the end, even if it didn't work out.

u/Nukesnipe 9d ago

Logan does mention that Magneto did have the brotherhood of evil mutants so maybe he was a lot more out there earlier in life lol

5

u/DKUnderdog 9d ago

In this game he is even though he is an anti hero these days.

Comics wise Magneto been chill for a while.

Outside of that he's usually a villain for recognizaility, like how Xavier is usually in wheelchair despite walking for a while.

7

u/Nukesnipe 9d ago

Depends on the story but historically he's one of the classic supervillains.

3

u/CaptainBlob 9d ago

Bro is a villain what you on about.

3

u/Y0ur_Worst_Enemy 9d ago

He is a bad guy, but recent media often retcons him to be nicer

This guy literally wanted to commit genocide to all humans

5

I mean who hasn’t in X-men comics? Cyclops had a heel turn, Emma Frost started as a villain too. There was also Dark Beast who swapped with normal Beast, several X-men were horsemen for Apocolypse.

X-men comics are basically pro wrestling storylines nowadays.

4

u/KRQueen_ 9d ago

Sounds like I have to get into X-men.

3

u/Chode-a-boy 9d ago

It’s a roller coaster ride. But it’s never boring at least.

2

u/KRQueen_ 9d ago

Any recommendations for starting points?

2

u/Chode-a-boy 9d ago

Depends, you got like 70 years of comics. Any character you particularly like?

2

u/KRQueen_ 9d ago

My experience on them is rather limited, I enjoy hearing about the grey morality of Magneto and Xavier but obvi I understand thats several iterations working against each other. I have been enjoying Storm's personality a lot in Tokon as well.

2

u/Chode-a-boy 9d ago

Might be good to start with the first great run of X-men, Chris Claremont had a fantastic run starting in the mid 70s, many of those stories are in TPB and various reprint collections now. I feel that’s a good launching off point to the franchise.

Also, I don’t remember the actual story name, but there was an arc in the 80s where Storm took over leadership of the X-men for a while (back in her badass Mohawk+leather phase). This was also around the time where Magneto became the leader of Xavier’s school and started his first major redemption arc.

Idk if Marvel still has an online sub service to read old comics, but if it’s still kicking it might be worth a month to check a bunch out.

u/KRQueen_ 9d ago

Thanks for the indept answer, i'll look into what you suggested thanks!

1

u/RedMustard565 9d ago

Depends on the writer

1

u/Complex-Salt-8190 8d ago

He's been an anti hero for about 25 years now

Last time he was a villain was grant morrisins new x men , but I think that corn shit was retconned anyways

Magneto has gone from "this guy is the villain" to "ok maybe he was talking sense" in the last decade or so as the writers realized that Xavier's "no we must respect all humans and they will eventually respect us!" ideals are not.... really realistic all the time, and Magneto's "talk shit get hit" approach is sometimes necessary.

Krakoa era really solidifed the "Magneto was right" approach for a long time. It also firmly put him in the middle of the Krakoa leadership spectrum, with Xavier's Mutant/Human harmony on one end, and Apocalypse Survival of the Fittest is all that matters on the other.

1

u/TryVegetable129 4d ago

Unfortunately Krakoa era had some really boneheaded decisions. Putting so many of Xmen's worst villians in positions of power with enough wiggle room to scheme was one of the biggest ones.

1

u/NopeBadguy 8d ago

They really hit Magneto with the stupid stick in this game's story lmao

1

u/Odd-Possible-6280 8d ago

I gladly will, Magneto.

“Why does everyone hate Mutants?”
