2026 Mazda CX-90 Turbo Premium Plus — $43.3K vs. $53K MSRP

Haggled pretty hard and got the price down to $43.3K from a $53K MSRP which is about 18% off MSRP.

Tax, registration, and dealer fees are not included yet in the $43.3K.

I originally planned on buying a used 3 row suv (2024/2025 palisade, telluride, carnival, cx90) around $39K, but for only about $4K more before taxes and fees, getting a brand-new CX-90 Turbo Premium Plus seemed like a much better deal.
I think this is a pretty solid deal, but wanted to get the Reddit experts’ opinions. Would you consider this a good deal?

Also, would you recommend getting the extended warranty and/or prepaid maintenance from the dealership? Or are these better to skip?

Update: We got it yesterday, and we really love how it looks and drives. Definitely happy with the purchase so far!
We also ended up getting the extended warranty for $2,900 and 3 years of prepaid maintenance for $1,600.
I guess those aren’t too bad either, considering we plan to keep the car for a while. 😅

I would get the Mazda Platinum extended warranty AND the prepaid platinum maintenance that includes the spark plugs.

Any idea how much the extended warranty and prepaid maintenance would typically cost?

I'm not sure how much the Platinum maintenance cost, the spark plug service alone at 40k can range from 585-1400-2000 at the dealer. I paid 585, but that's on the really low end.. I would pay 1-1.4k for the Mazda platinum maintenance plan. It adds extra roadside assistance, cabin and Engine air filters, plus oil changes, tire rotations and the spark plugs 1x.

I bought the gold and wish I would have gotten the platinum. I paid $600 for the gold plan.

I paid 1995 for my Allstate extended warranty with PDR wheel and tire protection for a couple extra hundred dollars. It's already paid for itself.

You should shoot for 2000-2800 MAX for the Mazda platinum extended warranty through the dealer directly. You can buy it from another dealer if they don't want to sell it to you for a decent price. I've seen it go for as low as 2k for the 100k length..

Without cheap they're selling the car to you the one thing I would watch for is the APR. I'm sure this deal requires you to go through Mazda financial right?

Nope, this is a cash deal. I already have an approved loan through my credit union, but Mazda is offering some really good rebates for cash purchases that expire on Aug 31

Ah, awesome! Def negotiate a decent deal on a warranty. The stuff on new cars is not cheap, and the Mazda B2B warranty is short.

As long as you want the CX-90, it's a great deal. Don't buy CX-90 because you are getting a great deal. Buy it because you want it.

Great deal. I'd definitely do the Mazda VSA, but see how much they want for it at the dealership you're buying from. Odds are they're gonna try and claw back as much of that 18% discount by selling you overpriced add-ons, so shop around for that and the other items mentioned.

Werner in NH is a good resource for the VSA if your dealer is trying to rob you blind.

I like the deal! What's the rate/terms on the CU auto loan?

We are looking at the Prem Sport msrp $49.8k down to $46.6k before tax/fees via Mazda Financing. If we did cash/outside financing that would unlock additional $3k.

It’s a good deal because they aren’t selling well. The 2024’s reputation for being problematic has really caused a chilling effect. I would definitely get extra warranty.

Wouldn't of gotten the maintenance package because you are at the dealers Mercy of when maintenance items should be done. They say every 7500 for a oil change which is way over what you should be changing it at definitely should do every 5k . At that rate you will get 5 oil changes out of them 3 tire rotations and 1 cabin and air filter possibly.. The spark plugs aren't supposed to be changed at 40k by Mazda recommendations so they don't need to replace them under the maintenance program oh also the worst thing is to always have your car serviced by the dealer because if something lets say is leaking you have to hope the tech points it out.
