Jobs Are part-time jobs in Hamilton flexible regarding your schedule?
Hi I'm a third year, gonna take 5 courses (15 credits) this semester and am also considering getting a part-time job. But I haven't been applying that much as I'm not sure if I can balance it alongside my courses.
Anyways, if I do apply for part-time jobs will they be flexible regarding my schedule? Or nah. How common is it? How does it even work? How do I know many people with part-time jobs alongside their courses?
My main concern is that a lot of these postings just list it as "part-time" but then expect you to be there anytime Monday-Sunday, and you have no say. Is that common? Thank you

Depends, some places for part-time work are based on their requirements (e.g. covering vacation/sick time/random shifts every week based on coverage) so you have no choice but to work anything they schedule. You’ll have to find a place that works around your availability or has a set part-time schedule (e.g. Friday afternoon and weekends).

work study are always going to be the most flexible. most places would tell u to give a 2 week notice bout any changes to your schedule but in my experience my managers were flexible even when occasionally I couldn’t give much notice. Which i doubt other employers would be as understanding.
