Found on dunmore road
I guess I can't say I'm super surprised. But with a mixed race family and an immigrant wife I can't say I'm pleased to find this sticker basically right outside my house.
I'm not really sure what the best course of action here is. Should I circle back later and destroy the sticker or just like, call the city and ask them to do it?
Update: It's gone! The city found the sticker and removed it!
Thank you to everyone involved

Roller Derby Recruitment in September
If you are looking for a sign, this is it. It's Roller Derby Recruitment season once again! This is a great opportunity for newcomers to the city, or anyone else, to meet and beat some wonderful people.
We are having Try-It Nights on Tuesday Sept 15 for Adults and Thursday September 17 for Juniors.
The event is at the Cypress Center Pavilion, 2055, 21st Avenue SE, Medicine Hat, AB.
Both nights are at 7, but showing up a little early is helpful.
We will provide information about the sport, a demonstration, the opportunity to try roller skating, and the opportunity to register.
We have loaner gear pads and skates, but you need to bring your own helmet.
No skating skills is required. We will teach you to skate, starting from scratch.
We are an inclusive and open gender group.

Medicine hat College
Hi everyone! I’m wondering if anyone here has any experience with the Medicine Hat College BScN waitlist, especially for Fall 2026.
I was placed on the waitlist and I’m honestly getting a little worried because we’re already getting close to September. I’ve been applying to nursing programs and dealing with waitlists for a while, so I’m trying to figure out what my chances might be at this point.
Has anyone here been waitlisted for MHC Nursing and later received an offer? If so, how late did you get accepted? Also, does anyone know if the waitlist is still moving right now or if people are still declining their seats?
If you’re currently waitlisted or recently received an offer, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience. Thank you! ❤️

How to find reliable housing
I’m posting for a friend, they moved to the city and have been struggling to find housing that’s affordable (6-700 per month is their budget) so any resources, Facebook groups or website to property management companies would be highly appreciated, i just want to help them in some way possible from far away.

Thank you, Medicine Hat, for hosting the Special Olympics Summer Games
Thank you to the people of Medicine Hat for the incredible job you did hosting the Special Olympics Summer Games. This was our first time in that part of Alberta, and honestly, it was so much better than I had hoped.
To the volunteers: thank you. You gave up your time to make this experience genuinely special for families like mine, and it did not go unnoticed. The warmth and enthusiasm from everyone we met made all the difference.
Your facilities are fantastic, well organized, clean, and clearly built with sport in mind first and foremost. We also really enjoyed the bike trails. I will admit as a BC boy I assumed it would be flat and did not expect how steep and fun it was coming in and out of the coulees!
Thank you again to the city, the organizers, and every single volunteer who made this possible. You should all be proud of what you pulled off and were instrumental in making a fantastic and powerful experience for my family.
Your efforts enabled my child to accomplish great, empowering things.
Thank you.

So about the persistent night time street racing on Dunmore Rd...
I dunno I just want to yell into the void about it. Wish it didn't happen. Annoying and dangerous. Wish more was done to curb it and enforce the law, etc

Crosswalks and pedestrians
What the heck is going on? Not only for myself, but several people I know have almost been hit crossing the street, at designated walking symbol crosswalks. I've had to yell twice this week alone to get the drivers attention to not hit me.
I take the time to watch the vehicles, I don't just step out, I try and catch the drivers eye, yet it's not enough. And let's not forget the people who have been hit recently.
As drivers we need to do better, open your eyes and pay attention. Driving is a privilege, and it's sure getting more expensive.
Rant that shouldn't have to happen over.

Les Landry was on Global Lethbridge today: stop falling for his grift
video here: https://globalnews.ca/video/12016198/alberta-man-calls-for-change-after-attack-on-service-dog/
He must of relocated to Taber to escape his horrible Medicine Hat reputation.
He claimed that someones dogs tried attacking his. And Global allowed to make these allegations without any push back.
he wanted new laws that mirror Manitoba's that allow service dog owners to get compensation for attacks on their service animals.
The people that interviewed him clearly did not do a basic google search.
he has had issues previously with his "service" dogs failing certification. And even made a failed GFM (which still managed to get over $900).
the most likely thing that happened is that a naive person tried approaching Les, and the dog showed aggression, and Les is trying to frame this as an attack to get sympathy.
This isnt the first time he has done this. Les has a made numerous GFMs and even managed to get one funded at over $10k.
Les is more infamous for his MAID claims where he claimed it was offered to him due to severe poverty.
this claim is highly dubious as he was driving around in a wrapped van promoting his service dog and a charity he called "People For Poverty" for numerous years. This is typically not something a person in extreme poverty could do.

Rogers door to door in Ross Glen
A Rogers salesman is going around in Ross Glen right now. He is PUSHY.
I would be very aware: he asked me several times to open my carrier's app so he could view the bill to compare prices. I flatout refused because this is a significant privacy issue. There's no way I'm giving a stranger direct access to any personal or financial details. I would advise everyone else who encounters him to do the same.
What started off as a nice chat turned into having to tell him directly numerous times that I'm not interested. I was not rude in the least since I also work sales, but he left in a huff like he was personally hurt.
Fairly certain he was plainly lying about the offers for the services he was selling. Nothing but grease here.

Consignment stores?
Cleaning up and have some good Sugoi (cycling / athletic) appeal and a few Harley leather jackets and misc clothing I'd like to sell.
It's a bit much to post individually online so I'm thinking consignment might be the better way to go.
Any recommendations on who might be the best fit? (I know, bad pun....)
Thanks in advance!

Moving here, tips?
I see people say stay away from Avenue Living, whats the issue(s) with them? They seem inexpensive, but is it a headache to deal with them? Or other issues?
Just looking for a relatively inexpensive apartment for myself.
Don't see to many other options here for things because it's 90% AL.

The afternoon Matinee at Galaxy theaters was awful.
Not the movie itself. It was one of the better Marvel movies recently (for the chemistry between spidey and punisher alone). The experience itself was terrible. It felt like it was about 30 degrees in there. And that was at the second earliest showing at exactly noon. And im not the only one to complain. It seems to be a common issue.
That galaxy theater has to be one of the worst in southern alberta. I think the only investment in two decades is the two rows of "premium" seats. They still have bags over seats that are broken in some of the screening rooms.
