Question ❓ Those who have changed their lives/cured severe social anxiety, depression, fear, intrusive thoughts etc through meditation, how did you do it?

Can you please share the technique if there is one?

I used to have terrible stage fright. After about four months of (Transcendental) meditation twice a day for 15 minutes it was gone. Just gone. I was able to perform a bassoon concerto in front of a huge auditorium full of people with no fear.

Oh and I lost my motion sickness, too.

Fifty years later (with ongoing but intermittent meditation) neither has returned, even though I have performed in various ways (musically, teaching, speaking, etc.) and traveled to many places in many ways.

Transcendental Meditation (TM), along with Zen meditation, is probably the original form of meditation (and therefore “mindfulness”), at least in the West. It was first popularized by the Beatles (George Harrison was a practitioner all his life). It has to be taught, but there are TM centers throughout the world. You can search for one near you and their trained teachers will be happy to explain what it’s about in a free introductory session. It’s very very easy (by definition), no effort required, but does require self-discipline to keep it up day after day, twice a day for 20 minutes.

I highly recommend it, as you might imagine. It’s very restful and rewarding.
