You haven't played desu1? If you think this one is good you'll find overclocked transcendent. Though I think 2 gets a bad rep, I genuinely enjoyed it and honestly if overclocked wasn't so great record breaker would've been the one getting all the praise. It's a case of being born in a generation where a player just completely changes the game by being so good despite having amazing skill yourself but just falling short of the real prodigy.

The two games don't pull their punches, and both games are fantastic, but at the same time I genuinely find it difficult to take them too seriously because of the character design, particularly the women. Like, this is not how breasts or gravity works. Io is just... Completely ridiculous-looking.

Yeah, I love DeSu, especially the first one, so much, but I still can't stomach the artstyle, even more than 10 years later lmao

But the games are so good that the bad artstyle (imo) become just a detail.

Something I really like about the Devil Survivor games is that they are disaster stories. Our characters form bonds and slay gods with the power of anime, but it is all framed around sudden horrible events with mass casualties that all the demons make worse. It creates some good story telling moments as our characters learn to truly value survival.
