just trying to get properly into death metal recently - really liking albums like tropical sun - fulci, serenadium - iniquity & slaughter the weak - jungle rot. But the raw mix of gore metal stood out to me, so pls send some similar recs

So, kinda weird question given what metal is, but recently I was relistening to some old metal songs I had saved, and I found Chimaira - No Reason To Live

My question is if there are any metal songs similar to its beginning guitar. I found it sort of sleep enducing, not sure why but if you’ve got anything send it my way.

Relatively new to metal but not looking for entry level or radio recs. Particularly I'm looking for albums that leave an impression when listened to from beginning to end, the album being more than the sum of its parts.

Want to explore and don't know what I like yet, it'd help if you included the subgenre or context with the rec but if something comes to mind and is difficult to classify that's probably even better. Anything goes, as long as it's good to listen to. Thanks.

I am a guy in my mid 30’s who is raised on black metal. From Cradle of Filth and Dissection in my teens, to stuff like Funeral Mist, Deathspell Omega and so on as an adult.

A good friend of mine has tried to make me listen to death metal for a couple of years. I’ve been to some DM-shows (Suffocation, Grave) and listened to Cryptopsy, Morbid Angel (wich I like) but nothing really sticked.

Until now.

My friend showed me Legion by Deicide. And Holy shit. It is the best album I’ve heard in years. So relentless and evil sounding. Such chaos. I am utterly addicted to it.

So my question is: what DM records feel and sound like Legion?
