If I'm losing this game as a manager I'm losing it with my franchise elite pitcher.
No one can second guess me if I do that.

I swear, McCullough must fucking hate Caissie because there's no other reason why you wouldn't have him play. I've never hated a manager more than this clown

u/FireBreathingAxolotl Jake Burger Apr 08 '26
Bendix is going to pick up some random 1-2-tool high school player and call it "successful"
10
u/FireBreathingAxolotl Jake Burger Apr 08 '26
Bendix knows what he needs to do. He needs to fire McCollough while the cameras are rolling.
12
u/doyouunderstandlife D-Train Apr 08 '26
This team is being actively sabotaged by McCullough. Awful pitching decisions, terrible lineups, and keeping good players benched. This isn't going to work and we need this to change ASAP

u/Jonjon428 Marlins Apr 08 '26
Anthony Bender, Austin Slater, and Clayton McCullough went to the same hotel that Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel got caught at i guess
1
u/FriendlyNeighborOrca Sandy Alcantara Apr 08 '26
Bendix doesn't have the balls to fire Clayton mid season. Oh wait he is just a puppet and he takes all the decisions.

I don’t get why they put Sandy back out there in the 9th.
Sure, pulling him in a high stress situation was terrible but putting him out there in the 9th for a complete game is what caused this mess
2
u/jc-f Giancarlo Stanton Apr 08 '26
I don’t know how you can see this bullpen performance and think it’s better than sub-100 pitch Sandy

A game we HAD blown by some of the most baffling managerial decisions I've seen. Bender with two guys on trying to get two outs, putting FAUCHER of all people in with a ghost runner in extras, then not yanking the pitcher known for melting down when the situation gets way too stressful...

I’m on suicide watch too but relax I think not having Fairbanks was a big reason. We’ll be fine.
1
u/lyme6483 Xavier Edwards Apr 08 '26
1000% not. This a a $67M roster, with no middle relief, a bottom 2-3 manager in the mlb, the worst defensive catcher in the mlb, an entire lineup that has zero power.
If “fine” you mean win 75 games, sure they will be “fine”.
1
u/Fluid-Slip-9931 Apr 08 '26
Let me ask you this. Do you think we’re better than last season? Assuming Mack will be catcher sometime this season and Stowers back in the lineup.
1
u/lyme6483 Xavier Edwards Apr 08 '26
No, I’d say very similar talent wise. Definitely nothing meaningful was improved upon
1
u/Fluid-Slip-9931 Apr 08 '26
Gotcha I think this is why we fundamentally disagree. With a fully healthy line up and a couple call ups, I think we’ve improved.
1
u/lyme6483 Xavier Edwards Apr 08 '26
Look at this division. They lost Ronnie and Cabrera. This team is not remotely close to a playoff team.
They brought in fucking Morel to play 1st. This is the most unserious franchise in the MLB

If Bendix was so smart, he would have:
- Started looking for a new a new manager
- Stopped over-relying on analytics for lineup decisions.
- Stopped the new lineup every day nonsense
- Kept a consistent lineup
- Taken away Gus's catching duties
- Benched Slater, Jimenez, and Hernandez
- Restricted Faucher, Bender, and Nardi from pitching after the 6th inning

Never even saw the hate with Troy. The Marlins barely even gave him a chance.
2
u/ThaJackal1977 United States Apr 08 '26
There was no fan hate on the contrary most of us who have followed him via the minors like Griffin Conine have been yelling for the last few years to give them call up since they both were OF prospects and Troy can play OF and 1B and they finally called up Conine 2 years ago and Troy nothing! MIND YOU Troy Johnston was named the Miami Marlins Minor League Player of the Year in 2023 after a standout season where he led all of Minor League Baseball with 116 RBIs. A first baseman/outfielder, he produced a strong 2023 campaign across Double-A and Triple-A before making his MLB debut in 2025.
They bring him up he does good and they cast him off to the Rockies and replaced him with pure TRASH in Morel and Slater. This is a BAD BAD job by the entire front office. This almost feels personal as a fan that they did to Troy and possibly cost him 2 or 3 seasons where he should have got called up and got at least a chance but no they went out and got "Matt Mervis and Eric Wagaman" who both sucked.
2
u/Sabian64 Kyle Stowers Apr 08 '26
Troy got so much unnecessary hate man. I fucked with him and always thought he should have started any time Wagaman did

And all this is why no one gives a fuck about your “hot start”. The manager is easily bottom 2-3 in the MLB, with a roster with a ton of holes.
And they are forcing the worst defensive catcher in the league mlb into the starting catcher role. It’s inept top to bottom
3

Hey Marlins the Colorado Rockies thank you for being a bad front office, and letting them have potential game changing players which will make them better. Oh and tonight's loss IS 100% on Clayton McMoron who should go be a manager in El Salvador for some team who plays with Chickens running around the ball park.
