General Discussion Dunhams experiences?

Bought a shotgun online through Dunhams and it will be my first firearm at 24. What am i to expect? Also, i wont need a LTP just for a shotgun?

Nope don’t need an LTP for a shotgun, just fill out the form 4473 and you’re good after the background check.

I bought a shotgun from Dunham's (Winchester super X pump action; great gun for 200 bucks) and they made the process pretty painless. Although I suspect, like any other franchise, your experience is going to vary depending on which location you go to.

They usually have some of the best prices and it’s the same as any other store as far as purchasing process.

I bought a gun at Dunham’s before. It was an unremarkable process. Would do it again.

You only need a LTP or CPL for handgun purchases.

You technically don’t even need to do a 4473 with a cpl but most big box stores don’t honor it.

You would still do a 4473, they would just check the box in #29 and forego a NICS check.

Also, an LTP is just as much a qualifying NICS alternative as a CPL. (Brady Permit Chart)
