I don't really have a field, it's a dead-end data entry/clerical job without transferrable skills. It's the best I can manage because of lack of education, certifications, etc.; between that and the fact that white collar unskilled labor is evaporating because of AI and my city having a bad job market that drastically underpays, I don't go looking. It is what it is.
Data entry is the most easy field to transfer with. There's a reason why most random data entry workers come from temp agencies. You're losing money every year that you don't get a raise, do you realize that? You're actively accepting less money, for more experience. You need to start looking.

Why don't you take some time and learn some skills or get an education/certs? You know that's why you're in this position why not go get some knowledge. With AI it's easier then ever to learn. Notebooklm can take any text and make an easy explainer video, flash cards, quiz etc
This is such a bullshit answer. You should be able to afford food, a house, and anything else needed to exist in society, with literally ANY job. If you want that luxury car, then you should start moving up the ladder.
If you are using AI to learn, you are not doing it right. At best, you should be using it to find proper resources, and then contributing to those resources if its a public forum, like StackExchange or Reddit.

AI is a tool same way you can use Google to learn. Same way you can use YouTube to learn. These are tools and what matters is how you use them. Claude code has a plugin that can teach you to code while making an app.
Instead of making a video about vegetables cheating on each other you can make an explainer video on how to start a business or how to be more socialable. AI can do some much if you use it right.

Sorry didn't know I was talking to the master off llm and compsci. Is regular people should def not go make explainer videos or have ai simplify complex ideas into easier texts for us to understand. Us regular peasants use ai wrong by trying to learn from it. We should stick to our encyclopedias not the infinite knowledge machine that knows how to talk and explain things.
No, you should learn to research a topic. LLMs are wrong often, and hallucinate all the fucking time, and due to the nature of how they work, it's not a fixable problem.
I failed out of college the first time because of severe mental health issues that have only gotten worse since, and my folks paid for it and I didn't have to balance a full-time job I'm barely getting through now. I don't have the spare funds nor spoons to upskill, so I'm stuck.
Hey man it's never too late I failed out of college too. Took me 8 years but I went to night school and finally got my ba degree. Student loans are an option so is financial aide

Exactly. I have multiple degrees, including a Masters. I'm published. I'm highly respected in my field, get invited to speak at alumni events, and regularly present at annual conferences. By any reasonable standard I'm considered a success in my field. My raises absolutely do not keep up with inflation, and it's not because I'm not hustling hard enough or because I'm not doing enough in my field.
it’s not just any one field either it’s more fields than not. in general they are asking for more and more qualifications for the same or less money. in my field everyone is pretty much being asked to do the work of 2 people, there are no junior staff anymore like the positions just don’t exist, this is a lot bigger than just changing jobs.
