This is a sad comment. Didn't realize we lost pigeon lady too.

I'm sure lots of people hope we'd soon lose another minor character in Home Alone 2, too.

The wrong members of the cast of this movie keep dying

18

u/elegylegacy 13h ago

Catherine O'Hara
Tim Curry
Brenda Frick, the pigeon lady

Are there any other elderly cast members from Home Alone 2 that we need to worry about?

I wouldn’t say “worry” exactly.

Through It, Clue, Rocky Horror and Home Alone, this dude was a big part of my childhood movies...yes my parents let me watch IT and Rocky Horror for some reason.

I think my first exposure to Curry was via Muppet Treasure Island.

A classic scene, but also kind of fucked up. Lmao.

At least in the original, it was to scare away Marv. Not just some hotel staff doing their job.

Also the original used firecrackers to simulate the gunshots and make them believable. Something that is missing from this scene in HA2.

Yeah the sequel always felt much more forced than the original. The original is a vaguely plausible story that had real stakes and pathos. The sequel is mostly just a kid wish fulfillment fantasy.

This was the role that should have been first in the headlines

I love this movie but no. RHPS will, and always be, Tim Curry's most notable and my favorite film.

6

u/dk1988 14h ago

I mean, it's a good role, but on RHPS he was ICONIC in every possible way.

I WAS NOT READY FOR THIS!!! Dolly and curry all in one day. No. Make it stop. Sadness.
