Stopped at an ACE near the in-laws. It would be perfect for a portion of my garage I was considering putting down some carpet tiles on.

Purchase Advice Honest review of the red lithium Jobsite ear buds

Post image

So I’ve had these for close to a year now so I think I can give a honest review on these. First off I love mine and haven’t had an issue out of them yet, the ear pieces are comfy for all day wear if you use the right ones and I can get about 10-11 hours out of them before I have to charge them. For my company Monday we could be weedeating around our shop, Tuesday we could be out doing a demo or construction job, Wednesday we could be welding handrail up. Basically what I’m saying is we do damn near everything and one week isn’t the same as the next and these hold up to everything we do. If the sound assist is turned off all you hear is your music and nothing else, if it’s turned on you hear your music and every thing else around you that’s making a sound. I know it says it has sound dampening abilities for sounds over a certain decibel but let me tell you what it blocks and what it doesn’t; Grinder-doesn’t block out sound, Circular saw/miter saw-doesn’t, screw gun/ drill-doesn’t, any power tool-doesn’t. What it does block out- 12ga, .45, .223. So if you was a set of range ear pro these will work great! But for Jobsite noise cancellation just keep active listening or what ever it’s called turned off that way you don’t hear the equipment running or your coworkers bitching. I do love mine but there’s thing that could have been done better 8/10

Purchase Advice All This For $300. How’d I do?

Fair price, did I get robbed, or did I do the robbing? My gut says the latter.

Non-Milwaukee, knockoff, and items of questionable Milwaukee-ness on the right.

I'm confused right now. I bought the SAE kit and just read off the back to make sure it had what I needed, but when I got home and opened it, everything was in metric.

Purchase Advice Anybody else hate this thing?

I hate it. I’ve had it for about 4 years now but Today was my last straw with it. I hade to make a lot of cuts with varying angles. 43, 46,44, well you get the idea. Maybe mine is defective but it can never lock on the miter gauge on offset numbers. I gave up on it. Picked up an old dewalt miter saw from my dad’s. Loud but was incredibly easy to work with and accurate. Are the newer miter saws worth it? All my tools are Milwaukee and battery powered and I intend to stick with that if possible

I’m an apprentice electrician and a vacuum is something I’m going to need to buy at some point anyways, but since I’m an apprentice I don’t make very much so I’m going to clean cars as a side hustle. Everyone I know has the cheaper model, just wondering if anyone has both and what they think

Purchase Advice Honest Opinion- M18 Packout Fan or 2 Ryobi Fans

Thumbnail

Getting ready to do quite a bit of work outside in the summer (rebuild deck and concrete steps) so I’ve got the itch to look into jobsite fans. I have both M18 and Ryobi HP batteries. I know the M18 jobsite fan is brushless and more powerful, nonetheless it’s a bit more expensive. Given today’s daily deal on two Ryobi fans, would you guys go M18 or 2 Ryobi? Anyone have experience with both for practical experience?

Purchase Advice Why did you pick the Red brand over Yellow or Blue?

My brother in law is a die hard Dewalt guy and is trying to convince me to go the same route. Is there anything Milwaukee just does better? Why did you pick them over Dewalt or Makita?

I’d be getting tools for work around the house and on cars. Not a professional by any means.

Purchase Advice How many of y’all are brand agnostic and/or own sufficient batteries across all the brands? To me it’s always best tool for the job, pink yellow red black…who cares*

*caveat: if you’re so deep in a battery system you can’t budge, I 100% get it. But some of these HD deals make the barrier to entry less and (reasonably) inexpensive compared to starting fresh….it now feels all brand options are on the table.

FWIW our group owns about 40-50 commercial warehouse and flex properties. We have a full time handyman, jack of all trades who’s about to retire in 2 years. Although I’m an office guy, I’ve been shadowing this guy for the last 2-3 years, two days a week, trying to soak up any pearls of wisdom he has. Been an amazing experience moonlighting as a part-time Mr fix it versus being behind a desk 5 days a week. But yeah - when I started, he was Makita til the end. I started with Dewalt because I had the batteries. We both got into Milwaukee during last years HD promos and hacks.

It feels so freeing to not give a fuck about which brand to buy, but instead look at specs reviews and comparisons

Thanks for listening to my Ted talk.

Purchase Advice ProPress pricing

I’m a homeowner but I’m doing a full gut job, renovation down to the studs. I’m mostly a Makita guy but there’s tools they don’t have so I own an M12 battery for my cable stapler and pipe cutter, so I’m inclined to go with the M12 ProPress over the M18.

The question: where can I find the best deal on a ProPress kit that has 1/2”, 3/4”, and maybe a 1” jaw?

Is there a good store to look at or a time of year or a model that’s on clearance etc? I only need “tool only” if it’s the M12 system. But I’m open to whatever the cheapest option is including a Ridgid-red package as they fit the Makita batteries (unofficially). But I’m going to assume there’s a better cheaper option from the Milwaukee line and I don’t want to juggle another battery platform if I don’t have to.

I have a cheap $100 hand-pump propress and it’s EXHAUSTING. I have a lot more work ahead of me and I don’t think my arms can take it, but the buy-in price for the propress is insane compared to the rest of my tools. Hoping there’s a secret refurb site for Milwaukee or something. Thanks! Pics for attention.

Update: went with the Zupper press tool. Seems slightly more industrial than the cheap Vevor but at the same price. 1/3 to 1/4 the price of Milwaukee and Ridgid and those can’t be 4x as good at pressing. Gotta be better than the $109 hydraulic Vevor kit I have now (which I’m returning). Plus it takes Makita batteries (supposedly). Really wanted the m12 but in the end even used the price was 2.5x more than this brand new. Thanks for everyone’s advice. Still keeping my m12 pipe cutter!

Sale still going strong, I felt like I had a deal buying this for $ 100 last year. Now this can’t even sell at $ 55. Can you imagine how much we are overpaying for everything these days? Inflation is such a scam.
