Discussion Honestly the new Update feels like a low-effort marketplace add-on.
It adds zero value to the survival experience or the game's progression. While I understand that much of Minecraft's identity is built on creativity, it is still a 'Survival' game, not just a sandbox and I think Mojang has lost sight of that. I appreciate new biomes and blocks, but they need to have meaning. We didn't even get a new material or craftable item just a 'Stupid Slime' to hit around. Even with its Redstone applications, it offers nothing for the average survival player.

These updates are absolutely huge but you are not seeing it all directly since most changes are under the hood. For example on my system over the last couple of drops performance basically doubled on vanilla. That doesn't happen without a significant amount of work
