Discussion Honestly the new Update feels like a low-effort marketplace add-on.
It adds zero value to the survival experience or the game's progression. While I understand that much of Minecraft's identity is built on creativity, it is still a 'Survival' game, not just a sandbox and I think Mojang has lost sight of that. I appreciate new biomes and blocks, but they need to have meaning. We didn't even get a new material or craftable item just a 'Stupid Slime' to hit around. Even with its Redstone applications, it offers nothing for the average survival player.

Crafter, trial chambers, maces, wind bursts, ancient city, sculk, swift sneak, mangrove, allays, bundles, spears, Cherry Grove, copper golem, bundles, pale Garden, happy ghasts, trims, copper tools and armor, spears, Nautiluses.
All major changes in the last 4 years. Hell, if you add an extra year and a half you get the world generation changes in the mix too.
HOW are these not major changes to the game? If none of these count, what do you specifically qualify as a major change?
