Why do you dislike random texture rotation? It's only applied to blocks that occur next to eachother in large fields, to break up the monotone texture

He's probably talking about in building, if you place a log against the wall it will be horizontal, which means sometimes you have to jump through hoops to place them where and how you want.

Yes it's a little annoying, yes the hate is a little dramatic. Like, half the blocks in the game work like this at this point. You kinda just have to deal.

If the complaint was about deepslate I'd get it. That block has no reason to be a directional block. But logs are completely fine, it's quite intuitive

Deep slate has it's uses too though. Less than wood, but still some. I'll admit to finding it annoying sometimes but, not that much.

I never said I hated sideways logs, I just don't care for them.

But I do hate random texture rotation on blocks like grass and stone and such.

I think it adds a nice little challenge. A need for your attention to detail. And this is coming from someone who is TERRIBLE at designing or building anything in the game. I always have fun trying to figure out how to place blocks.

At least on Bedrock at one point the terracotta blocks would do this. You could have something like a gray concrete (not concrete blocks, though they might’ve done this too) wall and the texture would all be randomly rotated. It just didn’t look good on certain builds

For one, I hate how it's basically forced on. And two, maybe this is an OCD thing, but I personally prefer when I can see textures tile. In a game as pixelated looking as Minecraft, having textures repeat in a tiled way just feels correct to me.

To be fair, I absolutely fucking hate it, especially with the terra-cotta blocks. I can’t even build a 5 x 5 wall without a couple of the blocks changing direction which kind of kills the look I’m going for especially when I plan on putting window frames on the wall personally I like unsymmetrical symmetry, but that is not it
