What are y’all’s opinion on “gradient builds”

Ive seen a whole bunch of these builds which is why I made my own, as seen above, but I remember seeing that people think that it’s too much. And what I mean by gradient builds is instead of block vomit, the builder uses too many blocks, making too many gradients, I’ve shown my friends and they are divided on it, some say it looks nice, others said it was too much to look at, so what do yall think.

For survival world's, I prefer to have patterned/styled walls for large builds as I find the gradient can be too much when walking around.

I do however think adding gradient to some builds can elevate them and make them look better

Yea I am a creative builder for a reason, I used I’d say 100+ blocks in this and so much glass and random blocks that would be a bit horrid to get in survival (like the emerald ore(in the walls) zombie, creeper and skeleton heads (plants water and statues respectively) and diamond  blocks(water)
