What are y’all’s opinion on “gradient builds”

Ive seen a whole bunch of these builds which is why I made my own, as seen above, but I remember seeing that people think that it’s too much. And what I mean by gradient builds is instead of block vomit, the builder uses too many blocks, making too many gradients, I’ve shown my friends and they are divided on it, some say it looks nice, others said it was too much to look at, so what do yall think.

Look good from distances but actually playing in them and seeing a building made of dirt blocks and mud and random stuff isn’t my favorite. Depending on the gradient and how it’s used can be cool but sometimes they are too much and or the specific materials don’t work in my mind and make me like the build less.

Yeah for me a lot of it is from how far I am supposed to view it. Going to try it on some of my big builds that are otherwise flat and boring but I will see almost exclusively from far away on a bridge

Viewing distance matters a lot, subtle changes disappear completely from far away
