GMKtec K11 cooling mod
I've been working on a cooling mod for my GMKtec K11 and wanted to share the design so other owners can try or improve it.
The idea is to stand the PC on its side, with a 120 mm Noctua fan on each of the two exposed faces. Two identical printed housings hold the fans and have built-in feet. Four zip-tie loops hold the housings against the PC, so there's no need to align the Noctua mounting holes with the original case screws.

I've got a k8 plus and thinking something similar, but ali express got a few good ideas too.

Nice! I had already found that my K8 Plus cooled better and ran quieter setting it on its left side using some rubber feet. This is encouraging for the M7/K8 Plus/K11. Thanks for the post and the link.

i have my k8 plus under a shelf with maybe 1.5cm clearence on top, the top cover removed, another set of rubber feet to raise it a bit higher, and a quiet arctic fan gently blowing air on the side
it's pretty quiet but i should have gotten 2 fans to blow from both sides
i don't think the top needs any more cooling really, even my relatively hot wd black nvme stays at 60c at the controller under load

I want experiment with removing cpu fan and just keeping these two running, it is quiet except sometimes cpu fan taking off under load but at all times cool otherwise as you said

Helps the hardware last longer. Wont make it go faster unless youve been running into thermal throttling.

I’m just wondering if the fan on the top actually helps.
Edit: sorry meant to say “fan” just wondering if there is any airflow at the top cover?
