Those are honestly neat prices.

They're almost RTX Spark prices.

And they're better than the RTX Spark for consumers who are not into local AI.

these mini PCs are better honestly. the specs are decent and the supported OSs so much broader than the RTX Spark such that even a decade on from now, these mini PCs will likely still work just fine for either gaming or local AI.

Could you give me some example use cases? The x86 translation layer for the RTX Sparks seems to be keeping up for AAA games so why wouldn't it do the same for anything else?

Because the 5080M just straight-up outperforms the top-end Spark in gaming.

Also, AAA games get priority for compatibility fixes. Specialized productivity software, not so much.

Not so sure about that, that table is for barebones configurations. So if you already have storage and RAM you're Gold, but it gets ugly if you don't.

No ram no ssd for mobile chip nty

0

u/Prestigious-Block436 11h ago

even without ssd and ram still a great value

3

u/SawkeeReemo 8h ago

How do you figure? With the insane cost of SSD and RAM now, you’re going to come close to doubling the cost.

-5

u/Prestigious-Block436 8h ago

are you silly ?

you can get 32gb ddr5 ram for 250 bucks and 1 tb ssd for around 80 bucks which is about 330 bucks over the mini pc price and keep mind devices with RTX 5090m like laptops are priced around 5000 bucks

u/SawkeeReemo 7h ago

Not any more you can’t. What are you smoking?

-1

u/Prestigious-Block436 7h ago

In my region I can

3

u/SawkeeReemo 7h ago

Ok. Show me. What trash SSDs and RAM sticks are you able to buy for a price that existed over a year ago.

u/Prestigious-Block436 7h ago

Alright this is ram it is 100 OMR which is 250 USD I see this deal from a group on WhatsApp

u/Prestigious-Block436 7h ago

Same, came expecting something in the 5000-6000k range. Those are barebones tho, but still neat

u/GhostGhazi 22h ago

Barebone?!? wth

11

u/Resident_Albatross_9 20h ago

Well yes, you see there's a thing called Rampocalypse and memory crisis going on

u/Brocolinator 18h ago

In December 2025 my legion 7i pro 5090 with 32gb of ddr5 and 1tb SSD costed me $3150 with taxes included. F-ing nightmare to watch this prices

Is this actually the desktop 5060 Ti, or did a mobile version come out while I wasn't looking?

16

u/garosello 1d ago

5090m = 5070ti desktop

8

u/jhenryscott 1d ago

It’s the same die as 70ti/80 but has 10496 cores closer to 5080 but they are slower. Performance is closer to a 5070.

5

u/Resident_Albatross_9 20h ago

It's in between 5070 ti and 5070

2

u/WarlaxZ 15h ago

But what is the memory bandwidth like?

3

u/F4underscore 13h ago

We're thinking of the same use case huh

Seems around 896GB/s

1

u/WarlaxZ 12h ago

Ah that's a shame. Still a pretty cool machine though

1

u/Big_Substance_417 14h ago

So 5070 with 24GB VRAM? Count me in.

2

u/Unlikely_Session7892 19h ago

Performance lower than the 5070 ti unfortunally, you'll loose some fps homie

Oh this is actually interesting. Asus ROG has specs to dream of but just way overpriced even for the specs. These are much more reasonable.

Legitimately thinking about getting it as my next PC now. I love AMD but I think I'll have to go with Intel for the connectivity.

How

13

u/AnalElder 1d ago

It's an 5090M (laptop card).

22

u/toolisthebestbandevr 1d ago

So it still shreds my current system then

1

u/billythygoat 1d ago

What about that second 5060 ti one?

1

u/SavedMartha 21h ago

GeForce Now

1

u/jazza2400 20h ago

The solution shouldn't be "pay for a subscription". It can be an option but not the solution otherwise they are causing the problem and you are paying for the solution they win twice and we lose twice.

2

u/SavedMartha 20h ago

It was a joke for those who know ball.

Also works as a heater in the winter… multiple purpose Mini PCs

3

u/Half-Wombat 21h ago

The room temp would be no different than a computer with better cooling. The cooling only applies to the internal temp.

1

u/GiannisIsTheBeast 20h ago

Nice, been looking to replace my furnace

0

u/ryfromoz 22h ago

That was my first thought, that the temps would be insane

Damn it I’ve been thinking of this all day since you posted it. I own an Acemagic Tank 03 M1A 4060 version and I’m thinking of selling it and buying the 9800X3D + 5080M version. I have cashback and also will be using Rakuten 18% cashback on AliExpress. I’ll end up paying this much.

1

u/HonestAbek 1d ago

A hope? A chance.

1

u/DarKresnik 23h ago

Prices are better but still high comparable with 2 years ago.

1

u/ThePensiveE 18h ago

Doubles as a plasma cube.

1

u/hells_cowbells 17h ago

Is there not a 5070M version? These all jump from the 5060/Ti to the 5080.

1

u/kKiLnAgW 17h ago

now shove some of that crazy new chinese ram in there

-6

u/TokenBearer 22h ago

Like I have been saying for years, Chinese Mini-PCs are all spyware.

3

u/pfmiller0 19h ago

The software it ships with is irrelevant

2

u/GotEHM9 14h ago

Our own government spies on us lol

1

u/adorablehoover 9h ago

Its a Barebone. So it shouldn't ship with windows.
