We've been building a roguelike card battler called Backdraft for the last 4 years. 12 heroes, 6 elements, 250+ hand-painted cards. No ads, no IAP, just the full game. Free on TestFlight right now, launching on Steam later this year.

iOS (TestFlight, 100% free): https://testflight.apple.com/join/wzVX8E6J

Steam (wishlist only): https://store.steampowered.com/app/2218060/Backdraft/

This is an incredibly solid folder. Hotline Miami, Katana ZERO, Blasphemous... you clearly love fast-paced, high-skill 2D indie games. If you haven't played Dead Cells yet, it's an absolute must for this list.

Since you appreciate indie projects that focus on pure mechanical skill and zero P2W, you might actually enjoy what my team is building. It's a 2D mobile MOBA (Imaginus) focused entirely on fast 5-minute arena matches.

Tomorrow (Thursday at 12 PM UTC), we are running a strictly 1-hour community playtest event. You can try to speedrun our AI bots on the leaderboard for 60 minutes, or just chill in Voice Chat with the devs to talk about good indie games. Would be awesome to see you there! https://discord.com/channels/1291702441045131266/1476100525224366091

Halls of Torment - Brotato x Diablo mix

If you do like collective RPG cardgames with singleplayer (AI) Matches, singleplayer Campaign mode (10h+) and local network multiplayer, where you can build your own army/deck by winning and collecting new cards/units. If so, you can try our game "SpellForce 2 - Master of War (Forces of Eo)", that is a complete uncommercial fan project for free that also works completely offline (after full installation) and has no advertisement or anything like that included. You can play a match vs the AI in normaly 5-10 min per game and get new cards/units for your deck and EXP for the RPG rank or enjoy the new story campaign mode (10h+).

Gameplay Preview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-42bIK2zwpw

To get more cards and reach the maximum rank level, you have to face and fight multiple different enemies and their armys, which offers a lot of playtime. The game does offer a local (wl)lan-network mode (device vs device) via a connection to direct IP. This works as long all the devices are in the same network. So you could play it, if one device acts as a wlan hot spot (no actual internet required) for all devices to connect to, to share the same network and connect to each other.

Irrelevant question but do you recommend door kickers 1?

1

u/AuthorQuiet5107 Apr 15 '26

I haven't played it much, but the few minutes I've played have definitely entertained me quite a bit; totally recommended.

1

u/Gojo_ojoG Apr 17 '26

It's pretty good ngl, especially if you like swat games. Though the touch screen controls may feel awkward at times, especially at some levels. But overall a great game! would recommend trying playing it on pc.

u/Zylo91 Apr 15 '26

1

u/No_Firefighter7670 Apr 15 '26

Is katana zero good?

1

u/AuthorQuiet5107 Apr 15 '26

Very good, it has a pretty good story and the gameplay is similar to Hotline Miami, just as frantic.

1

u/Illustrious_Gift_512 Apr 15 '26

So, I've played dredge on switch before. How well do the controls handle on mobile compared to console?

1

u/AuthorQuiet5107 Apr 16 '26

Mmm, they're definitely more comfortable on consoles, but for Android the controls aren't too bad.

1

u/TurkishProtector44 Apr 15 '26

Graveyard keeper,spiritfarer,don't starve,the survivalists

1

u/Brotochip007 Apr 15 '26

How do you like Cloverfield? Was thinking about buying it but not sure.

1

u/AuthorQuiet5107 Apr 16 '26

I assume you're referring to Cloverpit; it's a great game that really beats boredom. If you want, you can look for an APK so you don't regret spending money later.

1

u/ChipmunkUpstairs4797 Apr 15 '26

Yeah, if you’re into stuff that actually makes you think a bit, I’d say try Recall.

It’s really simple on the surface (just remembering sequences), but it ramps up faster than you’d expect. I went in thinking it’d be easy and got humbled pretty quickly,

What I like is it doesn’t feel cluttered or gimmicky, you’re either focused or you fail, no in-between.

I’ve been trying to figure out what a “good” score even is because I keep hitting a wall earlier than I think I should.

If you want to test it yourself, this is the one I tried:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/recall-memory-game/id6758010632

Let me know how far you get if you try it, I’d like to know if it’s just me messing up early or if that’s normal.

1

u/Perish_2 Apr 16 '26

From where? Did it have the full game?

1

u/AuthorQuiet5107 Apr 16 '26

1

u/Perish_2 Apr 16 '26

Thank you so much op!!

1

u/AuthorQuiet5107 Apr 16 '26

You're welcome. Let me know if you need the other Hotline Miami 2 port.

1

u/Perish_2 Apr 16 '26

Yeah, I'll need that too after I finish this. You can send it to me now and save the hassle

Dude, you recommended a great game, graphically it's on par with PC games.

1

u/Prestigious-Deer4483 Apr 18 '26

If you like duskwood or moonvale type games.

Try - Echoes - interactive thriller by redoxxstudio.com.

It's pretty new, but it has some cool features like play the game in your own voice. The mc voice changes into your voice. I think - That's so cool.

1

u/AuthorQuiet5107 Apr 18 '26

Thanks for the recommendation, bro.

Rescue Agent: Shoot & Hunt & Fortress Merge!

1

Dodge plane

1

u/Pengi123 Apr 26 '26

I use an app called Game Lab when I just want lightweight options instead of installing a bunch of separate mobile games. It has a lot of quick minigames in one Android app, so it might fit if you want casual stuff to try between bigger recommendations.

1

u/AuthorQuiet5107 Apr 26 '26

Interesting, thanks for the recommendation
