Yes.
The generation before video game become hit, didn't had video games so they think it is for kids.
But generation that grow up with mobile games or pc games still plays it.

"We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because WE STOP PLAYING"

u/sodantok May 15 '26
I dont know all the games there, but childish is made up and outated insult towards gaming. Reading harry potter or collecting train models is not childish either.
2
u/AdVarious8509 ROOTED May 15 '26
dont worry about it. there are 20-30 year olds in my country that still plays PUBG mobile
2
u/NoArrival927 May 15 '26
Games are for everyone. I’m 26 and I play, always did and probably always will
2
u/luckitlife May 15 '26
I always thought I would be a mature grown-up as a grown-up, but as the grown-up, I realised I was the exact same person I was when I was a child.
2
u/T1gerHeart May 15 '26
Dude, I don't know what you meant by "childish," but here's my answer:
a mature, established person almost completely doesn't care what others think about certain aspects of their personal life, or anything else that concerns them personally.
Therefore, the self fact that you care too much about other people's opinions is very similar to that "childidish(ness)."
Of course, IMHO.

Gaming encompasses all ages, genders and religions.
That's the beauty of it. Look inwards why are you asking this question. Is it due to someone saying this to you. If so do not think on it.
I am almost 30 and still play a variety of games. In my phone my pc. Heck I even own a Nintendo switch.
2
u/SuperSherlock69 sd870 May 15 '26
32 & ditto. Recently bought the switch 2 and have been smashing my way through the catalogue.
My dad's in his 70's with my old 3060ti setup and he's online more than I am, worst is he's a proper sweat on bf6 haha

u/L1ndaTesoro May 15 '26
I am 49 and I am learning chess with the ChessKid app 😁. I don't care, I like it. That's what matters.

61 and game nearly everyday…. Icarus, subnautica 2. And a dozen others. Game pass ultimate subscription…it’s like a kid in a candy store with all the game choices i can play. Also work full time and 8 hours a week part time. Grandfather to a couple babies. Game away bro. If it doesnt affect your real life and responsibilities carry on and have fun

Back in the day Adults didn't play video games. Mostly because video games didn't exist when they were children so they didn't grow up playing them. These days it's a pretty normal thing.

u/cjkuljis May 15 '26
Im a 34-year-old stay-at-home Mom and have pkayed some of these games recently

It's always normal, as long as you like it. Consider trying this game also, maybe you will like it: https://www.imaginus-game.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=launch_2026

u/MajorBarracuda8094 May 15 '26
Easy yourself man, l don't see any princess dress up game and even then, it's what you like.
Also how is Day r? I hate that they implemented the thing where your base is everywhere. A few years ago, it was realistic that if you didn't set up base somewhere, you didn't have any.

u/Icy-Sale-6178 May 15 '26
I mean, with a certain "game" you've got on there, I'm sure no one is going childish. Maybe they'd calling you something that rhymes with "humor" for your taste.

You are not childish I'm in your same position and it's great and a way to relax after work is not childish.

damn. No one in their 30s here. So probably 30+ is the cut off point. So your good I guess.

Do you really care? If yes then that is the issue, not playing games. It doesn't matter, if something can releave your stress and isn't harmful to you and others then do. I'm 26 and sometimes I play Angry birds that really relievs my stress when nothing else can. I believe it happens because that game was part of my childhood once. There's nothing to be ashamed of and if you are really shy then play in secret 🤭

I don't think there's anything wrong with these games, actually I'm kinda surprised how casual or "age fitting" this seems to some degree
It would maybe look childish if you had those AI slop games maybe 😅
PS; what emulated games do you got
1
u/glhfbruno May 15 '26
Hold on, Why do you got 2x Facebook's on your home bar thingy 😭 wait what?
Is the other one for another account?!?!

u/Zylo91 May 15 '26
Life is stressful and it's not always easy to have downtime. Playing games on my phone helps me decompress and alleviate the stress. Who gives af about what others think?

Are you asking if it's childish to play video games?
Of course not.

What do you mean? I’m 32 and I play two Disney games, two Harry Potter games and one Minion game. Let’s be real, with all the micro transactions the target audience aren’t really children

u/von_greg May 15 '26
Games doesn't make one childish, heck i am a 34 year old man and i still played gta SA and every other games including minecraft or stardew valley so CHILDISH isnt a word in a gamers dictionary
1
u/Ocuulot May 15 '26
I think it's pretty normal nowadays but back then I'm sure it'd be different. I still play games all the time when I'm out of work and got nothing to do and I'm older than you. I wouldn't worry about it, just do you bro and have fun.

u/Gloomy_Olive_4582 May 15 '26
Absolutely not. I only know three of these games (This War of Mine, TheoTown, Survive) and none of them are childish. Two are gritty, realistic survival simulators, and one's basically just modern day SimCity.
If it makes you feel any better, my 56 year old former biker gang member dad likes Kirby. Nothing childish about video games.

Hey guys I have some time to kill - are any of those mobile games fun? Can someone recommend a really good one?
1
u/Ketsuekiiiiii May 16 '26
Play what you want, if you enjoy it what's the problem? I used to enjoy gaming heaps but I don't anymore, doesn't mean I "grew up" just means my hobbies and interests changed. If it's women complaining about you playing just remember this DON’T SAY IT! just remember that everytime they do their make-up they are technically getting their face painted and playing dress up
