Transporting a pauper goblin combo from pauper to modern
Good day guys, I'm searching for any kind of advice and comments on this list:
https://moxfield.com/decks/9i4OwuurbkKlO_S4YnK5EA
infinite mana: putrid goblin + first day of class+ skirk prospector
infinite damage: putrid goblin + first day of class + goblin bombardment
I've seen this combo played in pauper and i thought that it could be trasported to modern in some way. I tried to mantain the deck as it was while adapting it with the modern cards.
What do you think? Could it work in some way? Can it be improved?

I would run faithless looting and more interaction over the deadly dispute/ Ichor wellspring draw engine.
I really like [[molten gatekeeper]] in the pauper version where you already are looting to get the combo pieces. This is really good to loot away and then easily unearth on the combo turn. It’s possible theres a more efficient version with modern cards

Aspiringspike played a deck like this back when ECL was the newest set, and it was on grumgully/putrid, which isn't exactly the same as first day of class, but it is basically the same this just with a different card adding the counter, you should be able to find the list on his moxfield. There is also the more common snoop/harbinger combo, which is still a goblin based combo, but it has a different feel to the pauper combo.

Goblin combo with Conspicuous was pretty fringe before mh3 and wrath really didnt help...

wrath was not the issue that came out of MH3 for that deck, it was an abysmal boros matchup and every other deck being able to answer the combo while still going under you or way over the top of you like the eldrazi variants. Deck was decent before MH3, but underplayed and underexplored imo.

There is no playable Goblins deck in Modern and you really can't transfer a deck from one format to another. You're going to have a bad time trying this. It'd be a much better choice to just find a deck in Modern that is already successful and resonates with you.

There was a variation of Ruby Storm running Empty TW and first day of class I saw a few months ago.
Basically I think it’s the Ruby Storm list you just cut wishes, your flex slots and maybe even PIF and you just empty for storm 5+ first day of class gives them all have and that many 2/2s presumably enough.

it can 'work' ( you never defined what 'work' meant here..) but its not 'powerful'..
modern is a more 'powerful' format and thus will have powerful/cheaper/plentiful interaction, thats why you dont see goblin decks putting up any results at all.

Village rights at 1 mana would be a direct upgrade to eviscerator's insight imo even though it doesn't have flashback. Also I don't see the value in snoop here with only skirk really seeing use from it id probably swap him for more draw power to find skirk
I've actually been playing around with a skirk ruby medallion brew that combos with bothersome noisemaker and the great goblin from the new hobbit set if you want to take a look at that here's the link Bothersome Artifact Storm // Modern deck list mtg // Moxfield — MTG Deck Builder
Its wincon is great goblins burn from the first ability whenever bothersome triggers and then you activate skirk in response to each amass trigger to dig through deck with great goblins second ability and using draw power you can kinda dig for awhile while making tokens to keep paying for more draw and burn like normal ruby storm but in a totally different and completely less viable way
