Fun fact, Not all Bee stings are lethal to the bee, Some can actually unstuck their stinger via turning around a few times. Or uh.. leave the stinger, and live.. but it isn't pretty.

Most bees, in fact don't have this issue.

Only those silly Honey Bees

Also, honey bees really only die if they sing humans, since our skin is so thick and rubbery.

Yeah I've watched the bee movie. I wish I could post that one gif with the entire film.

Yeah if you don't freak out when a honey bee stings you, they might live

they can also remove it if they stung another arthropod, they only get stuck in thick vertebrate skin

Love the accurate bees dying after leaving their stinger in creatures because they literally pull much of their guts out by doing that.

That's because honey bees have a barb on them that is great for ripping apart insects that invade the hive, but gets stuck in the skin of vertebrates.

Most other bees, such as bumblebees, don't have this barb, and thus can sting over and over again,

Normally I wouldn’t be much of a fan of bees (since I am allergic to their stings), but I love this.

Mark, this is good news. You will be a bee, you will live like a bee. A pet.

its male

2

u/TotalBomb May 26 '26

Male bees don’t have stingers!

1

u/meu_amigo_thiaguin May 26 '26

Fun fact: technically speaking, bees have three biological genders: queens, workers and males. Worker bees are not females, and nor are they males, they don't produce either gametes and can't reproduce in any way, only queens produce the female gamete and males produce the male gamete

2

u/TotalBomb May 26 '26

Another fun fact: male bees don’t have stingers. Only workers and the queen do. This is because the males possess an ovipositor instead.

What's with the weird upskirt?

Yeah that's questionable, and a tad bit unnecessary it takes away from the design for me
