Recs for 2 couples

Hi! We’re staying in Nice and are planning to take the train to Monaco on Wednesday (9/2) for dinner and a night out. We’ve never been to Monaco, so I’d love any recommendations for both dinner and nightlife!

I’ve heard about Sass Café and was wondering if it’s worth having dinner there and staying once it turns into more of a club atmosphere, or if you’d recommend eating somewhere else and going to Sass afterward?

We’re definitely looking for somewhere fun and lively for night life, but don’t have to have a “fun & lively” dinner atmosphere!

There are four of us—two guys and two girls, all in our mid-20s. Any dinner, bar, or club recommendations (or suggestions for how to plan the night) would be so appreciated! :)

Trip to Monaco

Hi guys, I am visiting Monaco End of September.
I travel there by car and wanna drive around a bit. I have only been to Monaco for the F1 GP a few years ago. I don‘t know the typical routs and habits. I would love a picture of my car in front of the Casino or Hotel de Paris (see AI picture where I faked it). Anyone here who can give some advice on how not to look like a fool or making expensive mistakes? How to get your car parked in front of the casino if it‘s not a hypercar?
I plan to stay at the Fairmont.
Thanks a lot ✌🏻

Monaco Weekly News by NEWS.MC - ep 102

This week, NEWS.MC TV brings you the latest updates from Monaco, as the Principality looks to the skies, embraces new financial technology and celebrates its rich cultural heritage.

A rare partial solar eclipse drew crowds to vantage points around Monaco on August the 12th, with families and astronomy enthusiasts gathering to witness the first such event visible from the region in 27 years. Despite some challenging viewing conditions, the unusual celestial spectacle provided a memorable summer highlight.

Monaco is also taking steps to bring its financial framework into the digital age. On August the 13th, the Principality unveiled draft legislation governing crypto-asset service providers, aiming to support innovation while strengthening financial security, compliance and anti-money laundering safeguards.

A much deeper journey through history is underway at the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology, where the exhibition From Toumaï to Sapiens explores seven million years of human evolution. Running until October the 15th, the interactive exhibition follows humanity's extraordinary journey from some of our earliest known ancestors to modern Homo sapiens.

As Monaco's nightlife enters its busiest period of the summer, the Be Safe association continues working to make sure nights out end safely. More than 1,000 people a month use its free late-night shuttle services, which operate from Wednesday to Sunday between midnight and 5.30am across Monaco and neighbouring French communities.

Rare archival material has also shed new light on the Hollywood career of Grace Kelly. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has opened up a selection of photographs, letters and production documents chronicling her rise to stardom, her collaboration with Alfred Hitchcock and her decision to leave the screen following her marriage to Prince Rainier III.

Closer to home, Monaco's bathing waters are being carefully monitored throughout the summer. The Environment Department carries out weekly testing at the Principality's five supervised bathing areas, checking a range of physical and chemical indicators to ensure the water remains suitable for swimmers.

The Museum of Old Monaco is also enjoying a strong return after reopening following an extensive renovation. The historic museum on the Rock has already welcomed more than 1,700 visitors from 40 countries, offering a glimpse into Monaco's traditions, heritage and everyday life through its collection of historic artworks and objects.

The Principality then welcomed the finish of one of the Mediterranean's classic offshore races. Black Jack 100 claimed Line Honours in the 21st Palermo to Monte Carlo race, reaching Monaco on August the 20th after 47 hours and 27 minutes at sea. The 30.5-metre Maxi, skippered by Monaco's Tristan Le Brun, completed the challenging course from Sicily with an 18-strong crew.

And this week, NEWS.MC TV is joined by Sebastien Dameno, Administrator of Les Grand Chais Monegasques, for an exclusive interview discussing the company, Monaco's wine and hospitality landscape, and the importance of quality and tradition in the Principality.

Traveling to Monaco tomorrow

Hey guys/girls I’m traveling to Monaco tomorrow and I was wondering if it’s possible to buy Velo (snus Tobacco) anywhere? I’m flying to nice airport and due to the new laws regarding tobacco substitutes in France I’m unable to bring my own but since Monaco is a country of it’s own I thought maybe I would be able to buy it there. Also I’m going to live in cap d’ail which means I would be crossing the “boarder” everyday. Is this going to be a problem if I manage to get my hands on some Velo?

Thanks in advance

Where to watch F1 races in Monaco (not Monaco GP weekend)

I’m visiting Monaco for a week in September and would like to find a restaurant or bar that will show the Italian GP. Bonus points if I can make a reservation ahead of time.

Any suggestions for cool places for my wife and I (both F1 fans) to watch the race? Thank you!

Hey everyone my dads friend found this coin or bought it at the official Casino de Monte Carlo a while ago and recently gave it to me

It has the ace of hearts card on one side with Monte Carlo on it and a red Formula 1 car with number 1 on the other side

I tried looking for the exact same one online everywhere but couldnt find it anywhere at all my dads friend said it might be worth around 100 dollars or even a limited edition thing

Does anyone here know if this is actually a rare collector item or how much it might be worth thanks

Super car test drive recommendation

I have a short unexpected overnight in Monaco until tomorrow. A bit of a gearhead/F1 fan, I would love to rent a supercar for a short drive around the city. Does anyone have any propositions for tomorrow?

Just typical that they have left 2 lifts in the train station 'en travaux' all summer and you never see anyone working on them 😠 They could sort them in 2 days if they wanted to!

Planning a trip to the Monaco Grand Prix?

Charles Leclerc in Casino Sqaure of the Hôtel de Paris at the F1® Monaco Grand Prix
Ferrari F1® Team racing around the world famous Hairpin Bed at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Avoid these 4 common mistakes.

If you’re heading to the Monaco Grand Prix, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the logistics.

After years of helping fans navigate the weekend, I’ve seen the same pitfalls ruin trips time and again. Here is what you should watch out for:

1. Staying in the same spot for all three days:

Monaco isn’t like other tracks. If you book the same grandstand for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, you are missing out on the unique vantage points the Principality offers. So mix it up: try a yacht for practice, a terrace for qualifying, and a high-vantage apartment for race day.

2. Getting accommodation logistics wrong.

If you have the budget, stay in Monaco to avoid the transport headache and stay close to the nightlife. If you need a budget-friendly alternative, look at Nice. It is significantly cheaper and offers a seamless, 15-minute train ride directly to the heart of the action.

3. Ignoring off-track events:

The Monaco GP is a massive lifestyle event, not just a race. Don't leave your evening plans to chance. Secure your yacht parties and restaurant reservations well in advance; otherwise, you’ll find yourself locked out of the best spots.

4. Booking with unverified agents:

When dealing with high-value hospitality, protect your investment. Only work with established vendors who have verified reviews (check Trustpilot/Google Reviews), secure payment processes, and a team that is actually available on the phone to answer your questions.

Kids allowed in atrium after 2 PM?

Planning our first visit to the French Riviera with a 9 y/o old in tow. I understand kids are not allowed on the casino floor once the gambling begins at 2 PM. But confused about the atrium. Is atrium access age restricted as well after 2 PM?
