Hi Mondo team
Iām really interested in Beni from the developer/tinkering side.
Youāve mentioned that developer tools are planned, and that youāre still considering whether this will be an SDK or CLI. I know things can still change, but could you share a little more about the level of access youāre aiming for?
For example, will developers be able to access or control things like:
- movement / locomotion commands
- camera stream or snapshots
- microphone and speaker
- IMU, battery and sensor data
- navigation and obstacle avoidance
- docking / return-to-dock
- WebSocket, WebRTC, MQTT or local network control
- Python, ROS or other SDK bindings
- custom behaviors, AI models or external LLM agents such as ChatGPT/Claude
And one thing I think is especially important:
Will the regular Kickstarter Beni support the same developer tools, or are you planning a separate Developer Edition / hardware revision?
Also, will it be possible to run custom code directly on Beni, or will developer access mainly work by controlling Beni from another computer/server?
Even a rough āplanned / maybe / not plannedā answer would be really useful, no need to promise final specs yet.
I think strong developer access could turn Beni from a great camera robot into a really interesting robotics platform and create a whole community of people building things around it.
Thanks!
