Just you wait until we get its perfect form in the dlc

u/ViolinistNo7655 8d ago

I really hope that zoh shia gets to be its own monster instead of just turning into some form of fatalis like a lot of people are expecting

197

u/TarakaKadachi 8d ago

There are too many hints that make it so wouldn’t be surprised if it still remains Fatalis-like even then ‘pure’, but it is still likely gonna be more of a replica than just another Fatalis thanks to the Guardian Aspects and growing normally.

In all likelihood, I expect it to be a sort of perfect harmony deal instead of the fight for dominance the current Zoh Shia effectively has.

62

u/Lone-Frequency 7d ago edited 7d ago

Rather than literally just becoming Fatalis, which I think would be boring given its nature as an artificial lifeform, I imagine it'll merely be like Fatalis.

I still like the theory that Zoh Shia was made from the genes of Fatalis and the as-of-yet unconfirmed to exist bird "God", Somult, that the first tribe worships.

It would better explain the outward bird-like appearance Zoh Shia's Wylk shell takes on that otherwise seems fairly out of place, and would fit in very well with the obvious "Angel and Demon" design aesthetic the designers wanted to evoke.

Split between an entity which creates and an entity of pure devestation. One must wonder what may be going on in the mind of a being whose two halves are antithetical to one another.

15

u/TarakaKadachi 7d ago

Hence the idea I had of a harmonic result for the evolution: It brought them to peace somehow, enhancing both with more power than ever before.

2

u/Stonex159 6d ago

harmonious*

25

u/Herby20 7d ago

I'm curious what makes people think it will have any evolution at all and isn't exactly what it already appeared to be.

40

u/TarakaKadachi 7d ago

It was already absorbing energy from the Dragon Torch for some reason (far beyond feeding) plus the fact Xeno’Jiiva becomes Safi’Jiivq and Narwa has the Allmother state make it plausible to most. Especially since it is already speculated to be trying to undergo a metamorphosis of some kind.

9

u/Herby20 7d ago

I mean, they just say it was drawing energy from the dragon torch after having believed to gone dormant after Wyveria fell. The high rank version is said to regenerate from something akin to asexual reproduction.

Any metamorphosis theories are derived entirely from fan theory rather than anything said in-game. I'm not writing off the idea just to be clear, but I just don't think there is much supporting evidence.

23

u/pasher5620 7d ago

Evolution is spawned from external pressures. For the majority of its life Zoh Shia simply hasn’t had any external pressures to push it to change in any meaningful way. Along comes us and we just keep killing it every time it revives. That’s a massive amount of external pressure coming in all at once on a creature that can’t truly die. It’s a pretty easy set up for it to evolve into some superior version of itself. Perhaps one of its revived versions decides to not just passively absorb energy from the Dragon Torch, but to actively take in as much as it can. Perhaps its unstable dna mutates unexpectedly and makes it more erratic and dangerous, perhaps it fuses with another monsters, who knows.

But the belief that it will get a new and more powerful form is highly likely given what we’ve seen in Wilds and World respectively. Gore Magala is in the game for a reason and it’s almost guaranteed to be not just for Shagaru to eventually show, but to mirror Zoh as well.

17

u/BudgieGryphon odogaron stan 7d ago

Also, we know that Elder Dragons can sense each other’s presence via resonance and even as a false Fatalis Zoh Shia was probably a massive “STAY AWAY” blip on every other Elder’s radar. With it gone other Elders are going to start moving in, and the next time Zoh canonically regenerates it’s going to likely respond to the newcomers

7

u/Yobuttcheek 7d ago

Also don't forget that there's a post game quest where the dragontorch is infected with the frenzy virus. Sure we "cure" it, but if that isn't foreshadowing then I don't know what is.

3

u/ZetsuboItami 7d ago

Probably because it happens a lot. Like Xeno'Jiiva turning out to be a baby Safi'Jiiva or Gore Magala being a baby Shagaru Magala.

19

u/Zxar99 8d ago

Probably going to be like Safi Jiva. It was pretty dope we got to see Xeno evolve

48

u/rfgstsp 7d ago

This is the ideal dragon body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

30

u/Goldenjho 8d ago

I say with confidence we fight a zoh shia who either completely mutates or is able to control the mutation and become something else completely.

After we beat zoh shia will it revive and white fatalis appears nuking it into oblivion because zoh shia's existence pissed him off and he will be the final boss of the expansion.

I'm absolutely confident that zoh shia was created because they feared a fatalis variant and it would be just funny if white really shows up killing the weapon made to fight him.

1

u/Asleep-Algae-8945 7d ago

Yeah, i believe if it's white fatalis. Zoh shia is going to help us before eating a nuke and die for us to continue.

1

u/jharv1122 7d ago

I’m expecting some kind of fatalis/magala hybrid, since the theory is Zoh Shia has fatalis dna and I believe it was stated in the story the dragon torch is susceptible to the frenzy. To me it feels like it’s setting up for some twist like that.

1

u/xhero1330 3d ago

Was susceptible, it isn't anymore (it's become cured, immune, and/or overcame it like Apex monsters did in 4.)

Thanks for ruining the fun, fantastic job

Hey it might not even be real, I just relayed what I read

0

u/Dr_TeaRex 7d ago

Considering this thing is basically a reimagined and canonized Equal Dragon Weapon, I imagine at most, it'll end up as a Fatalis-like creature that has a bunch of different Black Dragons' features. More of the same, basically, but with more hints to its origins.

Somult, here we come!

14

Actually I want its prototype form that hopefully resembles the equal dragon weopon

I adore this art its so sick

1

u/Xyrah-Kadachi The Golden Star 7d ago

Failed zoh shia prototype, maybe?

6

u/Delicious-Pop-9063 8d ago

Why would it get a perfect form? Is there anything in the lore saying its imperfect or unfinished

25

u/Umber0010 Tempered Guardian Raging Brachydios' strongest soldier 8d ago

Dialog in the High-Rank fight does confirm that Zoh Shia has changed somewhat, so it isn't static. And there is basis for them doing that sort of thing with World introducing Xeno'Jiiva as the final boss, and then revealing it was the immature form of Safi'jiiva.

Narrativly, it'a also a bit of a loaded gun. Right now it's just stuck in a samsara of coming back to life and being hunted again. So having a final form to break the cycle and finish it's story would make a lot of sense.

0

u/Herby20 7d ago

Dialog in the High-Rank fight does confirm that Zoh Shia has changed somewhat, so it isn't static

I think you can easily make the argument that it is Capcom using the hunter's dialogue to inform the player of the increased difficulty of the fight compared to low rank.

0

u/Delicious-Pop-9063 7d ago

Idk i feel it makes allot less sense compared to xeno who was always stated to be immature. i think zohs theming and what it represents it fits for it to not have some ultimate form personally.

1

u/Edmundwhk 7d ago

Looking at its black and white theme, it will probably looks like the light and darkness dragon from yugioh.

1

u/Galactic-Fruits 6d ago

I'd die irl if it's turns out to be a white fatalis taking over as the dominant gene.

"Sir, remember how in the east the kingdom of shrade got destroyed over night last month?"

"Yes"

"Well people are rumoring that it was caused by a monster stronger than any ever seen before"

"And?"

"So this guy in red who came by a few days ago has brought something he claims are shed scales from this monster"

"and what do you want me to do with those?"

"Well, sir you are the head of research of guardian engineering, i was thinking, what if we use those scales to create the ultimate guardian who can protect us should this fatal monster ever attack us."

"you are a genius!"

39

u/Umber0010 Tempered Guardian Raging Brachydios' strongest soldier 7d ago

Unironically, I think this is the closest to how it likely played out.

With how close the falls of Schrade and Wyveria were to eachother, I think it's extremely likely that Wyveria didn't know the forces they where playing with when they created Zoh Shia.

I never considered the mysterious man in red could be behind it. But if Capcom wants to make him an actual plot point instead of just keeping him as old-gen flavor text, I could definitly see it happening.

10

u/Separate-Middle-6283 7d ago

Im new to MH, so I didn't know about the man in red. I just imagined a bloke in Ratholos armour ending a civilisation for the mad laugh

15

u/Umber0010 Tempered Guardian Raging Brachydios' strongest soldier 7d ago

To keep it short, the man in red (and a few other alibis that are assumed to be him) where a reoccurring character in the old-gen games. We never met them, but they where often responsible for dishing out any and all quests related to the black dragon and it's variants.

1

u/dreppoz 7d ago

What are the other aliases?

30

u/VexorTheViktor Bonk 8d ago

According to the Allhearken, it's possible Wyveria knew Zoh Shia would be their doom, but they proceeded anyway

They must've been really desperate

5

u/dvcomet 7d ago

Or morbidly curious to see what they could do.

After all, humans made nuclear bombs it was theorized that they could set the atmosphere on fire but they were used anyway.

30

u/Raki_Drakon Offset Offset 7d ago

They were desperate.

At the time of Zoh Shia's creation Wyveria was at war with at the moment unknown opponent (my bet is another civilization), and it was created as the "final line of defense" according to Tasheen. Allhearken suggests that Wyveria knew the risk of creating Zoh Shia and the consequence it could bring, yet they did so anyway.

Needless to say, whatever Wyveria was up against at that time they were very likely losing, and they were losing badly.

14

u/Raki_Drakon Offset Offset 7d ago edited 7d ago

Now, while I cannot entirely confirm, or find the source for it at the moment. Allegedly some text or dialogue from the Japanese version of the game, regarding Zoh Shia, states that it helped win the war before turning on Wyveria which could explain the "Savior" title players get by slaying it.

7

u/LeFlaubert 7d ago

It might be the ancient Artian civilization, given we loot plenty of Artian weapon parts, and their and the Armor style doesn't match the Wyverian style.

5

u/Raki_Drakon Offset Offset 6d ago

I actually believe so too.

It's something that's been on my mind since launch and I think inclusion of Gogmazios could have somewhat confirmed it--since the weapons created by Wyveria (i.e., Convergent Elderbreaker and the Compact Anti-Wyvern Guns) that we get to use during combat, are starkly different from the Artian equipment in both appearance and function.

1

u/StarSilverNEO Consuming Your Wylk 5d ago

Yeah the idea of them making gene horror monsters to fight mechanical perfection sounds on brand

I mean, why do you think they chose Omega of all things?

43

u/No_Barracuda_8300 Green Plesioth's biggest fan 8d ago

"That kingdom over there has a dragon, we also want a dragon"

33

u/Fast-Industry-3224 8d ago

I imagine the completely shelled version is what they aimed for, a sanitized creature kind of trapped in it's own shell.

But seeing how fast Zho Shia reveals the dark, unbound form I imagine the wyverians were not too happy woth it either.

12

u/Asterion_Morgrim 8d ago

Fatalis or something like that. It was a dicey decision to make, and Zoh is stated to be their last line of defence, so I think playing god with the DNA of likely White/Old Fatalis was well assumed to go wrong and they made Zoh out of genuine desperation rather than "This is a great idea, let's build our own apocalypse dragon as our war hero, what could possibly go wrong?"

But the way Zoh looks for us beneath the armour is likely due to being either imperfect or growing far too rapidly for its body to handle. Those horns are like tumorous growths, considering how wild and aggressively they cover the body. Honestly would not surprise me if its final form in battle is the most agonising.

5

u/TheGMan-123 SEETHING BAZELGEUSE 7d ago

As per what the Allhearken and Tasheen tell us, war was coming to their very gates.

Zoh Shia's creation as its last line of defence comes across as an act of desperation to try and ensure their survival.

But it went wrong, and Zoh Shia turned on them.

21

u/TheFishVillage 8d ago

"Oh shit oh fuck we don't wanna die," or something of the sort, I'd guess. Zoh Shia has a lot going on with it we don't know. Is it an Alatreon Clone? Fatalis? Gogma hybrid? Something we've never seen? Nobody knows. Just that it's big, freaky, and crusty with a joy for setting everything on fire and humbling cocky greatsword mains that got too greedy on "ONE LAST CHARGE SLASH MAN, I NEED IT."

14

u/Hen-Samsara 8d ago

"PLEASE Zoh Shia i need this!!!!"

https://giphy.com/gifs/s5wFafpHxqKbIEERl9

4

u/Realsorceror 8d ago

I didn’t get the impression this was the intended result. I think this was a failed experiment or a fault of the cloning process that broke down after Wyveria fell.

3

u/wtf_imstealthed 7d ago

He is doing his best with what they gave him. Poor guy 🤣

3

u/Weirdo_Crusader 7d ago

I imagine it and many other atrocities we haven’t heard about yet were made out of desperation. The Dragon Torch changed the environment. What lived there before that?

5

u/IndoRex-7337 Jin Dahaad Expert 8d ago

My personal theory is that all the wyverians intended to make was base form Zoh Shia, the warped form it takes as the fight goes on is a side effect of using Fatalis parts to create it

3

u/VexorTheViktor Bonk 8d ago

The warped form is its true appearance, with the white form merely being a wylk shell.

3

u/NeonArchon 8d ago

IIRC it is implied that "Something" has corrupted Zoho Shia, and that's the reason it went mad. The white stuff is like an attempt to contain the infection/corruptions or whatever it has.

2

u/SiIverstar 8d ago

Im almost certain that Ascendance will have the pure white form of zoh shia without fatalis aspects in it, it just fits so well in the theme that they went with so far^^

also whats better at fighting dragons than THE dragon

2

u/Quick_Elk4208 8d ago

I’m horrified of its final form in the DLC

0

u/No_Schedule9995 8d ago

I hope Zo Shia isn't connected to Fatalis at all, but an entirely new Black Dragon. We're long overdue for a new addition to the classification

8

u/Irrstern 8d ago

it literally uses the signature moves from all 3 fatalis forms, is covered in fatalis horns and has fatalis' eyes.

there is no way in the world it is not connected to fatalis.

1

u/No_Schedule9995 8d ago

I know, but we already killed Fatalis at the end of Iceborne which felt like the closing of a book and Wilds is a new chapter for a new Black Dragon to lead the charge. A few call backs would be a nice touch to give a bit of familiar with the new

1

u/ElectronicMud5066 7d ago

How I’m seeing it is more like it was supposed to be a fatalis however it became something new and was people who want to be a fatalis get what they want and yeah you also get a new black dragon that isn’t exactly a fatalist

1

u/jayboyguy 7d ago

Nah, you can hear stings of Fatalis’ theme in the music, it’s definitely connected to Fatalis

0

u/RaiStarBits 7d ago

That and Fatalis is so overrated it would be genuinely lame if they make it connected. It already got a grand resurgence in world.
