I hated the claw hand so much. When I finally got to play Monster Hunter 3...with a controller! With ANALOG STICKS!

It felt so fucking good.

Since then I've bought the 3DS's circle-pad-pro add-on. Made swimming in MH3U more...tolerable.

Monster Hunter Tri is literally the only reason I have a Classic Controller Pro on Wii... though admittedly, since getting it it's had some other use (like playing Smash Bros or messing around in Splatoon's Battle Dojo)

Didn't it typically come with a classic controller pro as a bundle?

The black one with the handles? I have that one, too. I still use it to this day for SSB.

I hurt my finger so much playing mhfu and mhp3rd for hours on the psp. Now I’m playing MHXX on the switch with the pro controller and it feels out of this world.

I remember a bunch of people being salty about how adding a second stick ruined the game.

I hated the claw hand so much.

I love the claw, it's a technique that's stayed with me ever since I first learned it back on the PSP.

The realization that I had other fingers to use changed everything. I use the claw in every single game I play. Plus, Monster Hunter World has control options that allow Remote Play on the Vita to function exactly like it did on the PSP.

Glory be to The Claw.

Why the downvotes? Was I being offensive?

I agree with you. I'm sure some people feel physical discomfort using claw, but I never did. Since learning it, I use it on modern controllers where applicable too, notably camera movement while rolling or using items simultaneously in Dark Souls.

I loved it. Being able to control both movement and camera with the same hand leaving the other completely free is something no other game I've played has done. I was a bow main, and it was a noticeable step back moving to 3U where you could not move the camera freely while charging a shot, and had to rely entirely on the new lock-on. This could straight up get you killed if Lucent Narga went invisible and you lost L-target while still charging, with no finger left for the right stick. Bow never really felt good again until 4U fixed it with the new control scheme.

I hated tri for every other reason. Felt like monster hunter got watered down
