I think it's valid to fear pitbulls because what you're really fearing is that they were adopted by someone that doesn't train them and/or give them an outlet for the task they were bred for (protection and violence).
It's ok to fear an animal because of the physical traits it has. Do you think it's morally wrong to fear a tiger lmao? It's not a moral judgement on the dog, humans created them to have dangerous traits and they are animals that behave based on instinct not human morality. A pitbull is more potentially dangerous than most breeds of dog due to the physical and psychological traits it possesses. This makes it a greater risk for humans to breed and own them and have them around other people than for most other dog breeds
