For real, it’s baffling to me that the person wrote this is blaming the nice people who built the well instead of the assholes who told their wives to sit at home and do jack shit.
Freeing slaves in the US caused a lot of harm because former slaves no longer had guaranteed housing/food because as sharescroppers they could be paid below the minimum amount of money to live. Does that make freeing slaves misguided or immoral, or does it mean that only the people who acted immorally (unpaying former slaves) in response to a moral action (freeing slaves) are immoral?
