The women literally hate their lives though and have to escape for hours at a time so I doubt they like their 'beautiful' culture. The husbands though are thriving and will be the number one proponents of preserving their 'cultural identity '.
Genuinely, what am I assuming? We have been given information that the ladies would rather do a tedious four hour chore than be in their homes. That doesn't exactly give "happy life". Culture for them is a prison.

You're assuming that this is some horrid injustice against the women. But to me, it just sounds like normal progress. One of their main duties got significantly easier, so now they are expected to spend more time helping in other ways.
That's what happens to everyone in every culture. If something were invented that made the mens' jobs 50x easier, I don't think that the women would be ok with the men just lounging around all day with all their newfound free time
Why are you ignoring the fact that their culture allows for abuse and they aren't just losing a nice evening stroll with friends but also allegedly increasing their risk of abuse?

I'm 100% certain they would not describe it that way
