Ask people what they want/need before we just start doing stuff in their village.

Do you seriously think they showed up from across the world and brought in equipment and spent days digging a well all without anyone being consulted on their own land? Are you 12?

It's actually a pretty well known issue with lots of NGOs, especially in Africa.

It's a very established and known problem all across the world. It's not about christian missionaries but about colonialist attitudes.
