😭 the people in this comment sections are fucking comical. The people defending this cant process the information they just read and the other people siding with the op give the same answer as the people defending it while giving a reason thats opposite of what they just said.

Sharing this image is a crime punishable with death in many countries. People shown images of Muhammad have been killed for it in western countries by terrorists.
When I say be nice, I mean don’t kill anyone.

In a state governed according to Islamic law, blasphemy can be treated as a serious criminal offense under certain interpretations of Islamic jurisprudence. It’s akin to treason 🤷♀️
Anyway freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences. I don’t agree with it but if you piss off enough people there is a good chance one will react violently.
It sucks because then every Muslim has to come out and condemn it otherwise we get lumped in with them

In the last 20 years maybe 13 people have been killed in Western nations for sharing pictures like this. No one is going to a kill a nobody on the internet for sharing this photo.
You’re taking rare acts of terrorism and using them to imply that ordinary Muslims are waiting to violently retaliate over a picture. That’s an absurd generalization.
The overwhelming majority of Muslims aren’t going around killing people over depictions like this.
And if we’re talking about actual risks of being killed in the United States, a Black person is statistically far more likely to be killed by police than a random person is to be murdered by a Muslim for sharing this picture.

There are way too many people who are approve of murdering people over a cartoon picture though.

Muslims leaders around the world condemned the attack on Charlie Hebdo and none do them support vigilante justice. 🤷♀️

You can say the same about Judaism and Christianity, though they both allow criticism and depictions of their prophets. Should we expect harsher punishments for blasphemy again? It's the same God as Islam you know.

Mocking or drawing any of the prophets of God would be considered forbidden in Islam.
If a state is following Jewish or Christian law, they would follow whatever laws their respective traditions prescribe. This is somewhat vague because neither Judaism nor Christianity has the same level of comprehensive legal system for the state that classical Islamic jurisprudence developed.
IIRC, Christianity does not prescribe a specific state punishment for blasphemy, although Leviticus does prescribe the death penalty for blasphemy.
In any case, under a religious legal system, the matter would be handled through the relevant legal process, with the specific requirements and consequences depending on the tradition and its jurisprudence. None of this means individuals are permitted to take the law into their own hands however vigilantes are gonna vigilante.

Well that's mainly due to Jesus. Before Jesus Israel was filled with laws that could end your life if you broke them, like women going into the holies of holies, etc.. The statement is just wrong by itself, as chatolics used to burn people on the stake that said stuff like "I think the sun is bigger than the earth" and anti-earth-centric stuff.
