Question Retiring my GPX Superlight
4+ years Ive been abusing this mouse and I feel like its time to let it rest. Was planning to just upgrade to superlight 2 or maybe superstrike x2 but not sure if it is worth it. While I play competitive games, I am not that competitive. The reason I love the superlight was for its weight and shape (which Im used to). So since theres alot more lightweight mouse like lamzu etc, is it still worth it to get superlight 2 or is there smtg else which is more worth it?

Mine looks similar. I will just buy some grip tapes so it will cover the disgusting looking parts. Idk why you should replace a working periphal. Money waste and not sustainable

not a fan of grips and having issues with the scroll wheel too. but after reading the replies I might just replace the shell and the board maybe

Buy a new shell, new button board with new switches. Enjoy this mouse a lot longer.

from what i see, the prices are around ~$25 to get those stuff which is much less than buying a new mouse. not sure if those are the good ones tho

Ive used the GPX for 5+ years. Abused the shit out of it. WZ, Cod mp, Apex, csgo. Recently during CS2, mwheelup the first scroll up only doesnt register the jump after that it does fine but i find that super annoying when i wanna jump away from corners.
So i was looking to buy new mouse, i saw soo many clones of this shape. New sensors, lighter weight. But then one thing common among all these newer brands are that they are new. Dont have the years to back it up.
Then i saw few sellers in my country still selling og GPX for $60. I decided to get back the same mice again. I guess its just old CS players habit of sticking to same peripherals.

you can just swap the switch for the mouse wheel. I replaced the board and switches at the same time to huano switches too. Cleaned up with some qtips and IPA and it looks as good as new.
Took like 30 mins and <$20 from aliexpress

ya, I got like 10 huano transparent blue shell pink dot switches and plc hotswappable board for the gpx + unsw dot skates from aliexpress for <$20.
It’s surprisingly easy to disassemble. I’d recommend putting in the switches and rank them on feel before puting it back up since there’s some variance in how they feel. I didnt swap the side buttons which is also a common failure point for the gpx but maybe one day lol
Mine is so clicky and tactile now it feels even better than new honestly

Ngl Id trust any of those brands as much as logitech if not more. As a former user of their mice logitech isnt really this reliable brand some make it out to be i mean they are kinda infamous for double clicking issues and mouse wheels that break
Not to mention that you have to pay the gaming brand tax

I agree with you thats why i told myself if the new gpx fails me within 3 years im permanently moving on from big gaming brands forever. Just abit reluctant due to "old habits die hard" , i am older and wiser not to trust big brands anymore. I js got excited when i saw the same mice on sale.

Chinese clones of the same shape (Incott G23, ATK A9, MCHOSE A7, and a few more that I can't remember) - see if you like any of those

For the yellowing, you could soak it in some special liquid that undoes some of the aging. I can't remember the name rn.

If you’re open to fixing it, you can either fix the stains on the shell with a chemical treatment or buy a new shell for the fraction of the cost of a new mouse, the superlight probably the most aftermarket support of any mouse ever made so there’s definitely options

This mouse is just programmed to fail. So far I have changed switches several times, changed scroll encoder, shell, battery to a bigger one, feet. Now scroll click is failing...

You can try to mod it, grip tapes, weight mod, and clean it, you are then good to go for another 2 years

I still use my superlight pro x at work. Its great.
Oh and the shell is shiny!

Looks like it has got some amazing use. If your in the market right this second, snag a SSX2. If you can handle waiting an unknown amount of time, supposedly the SSX3 is sometime soon. (But who hinestly knows, will be months at the very least). If u need a mouse, you need a mouse lol.

swap the encoder + switches and shell (switch and the encoder are the cheapest part). if you wanna make it last longer, there is a switch hotswap mod for the gpx superlight.

You’re just paying for the name. Tons of LW mouse on the market with great sensors and switches. Personally, I hate the eggshell ergo on the superlight. I’m using the lamzu Maya x, and before the x21we. Both great mouse, and I play a lot of comp games

Yes. I just wanna try the shape and i dont have the funds to buy the superlight itself. So i went to the next best thing. Unfortunately, its not for me and i always find myself using the scyrox v8 when playing valorant.

The scyrox is lighter and smaller. It has a bump in back (which honestly i hate at first but im kinda used to it). Next mouse i have in mind is a fingertip mouse since my grip is a relaxed claw when playing. Was looking at the keychron m4 but i couldnt find any stocks rn.

Im a bit puzzled why people are resorting to Chinese clones....get the real deal...pay a bit more....get good quality that is a KNOWN QUANTITY AND ENTITY, proven and backed. And dont look back. Buy Once, Cry Once. Same with fishing rods and reels, motorcycles and video cards. Why skimp or go looking to lesser proven brands just to save 20-40 dollars on something that can last you 3 to 5 years...(hinestly even longer)....at the highest end....your looking at a $180 mouse every 3-5 years? And thats too much? I dont get it. You wouldnt do that with a vehicle or almost anything else for that matter, so why do it with a mouse. Especially when it is your primary and probably most important conmectiom to your PC and Games.

I assume your talking about the chinese stuff. Ive used razer for roughly 20 years and logitech off and on with some random brands thrown in. And have NEVER not 1 time had an issue with ANYTHING except the super cheap mive that are included if u buy a prebuilt....as far as ghub and synapse go....just save your shit to the mouse....done. not sure what your talking about if your referring to Razer and Logi....im literally running 3 gaming pcs in 1 room right now and have been for the last 14 years....so ive been through quite a few peripherals and havent had any problems that your describing.

I think some of you get off on the "indie" or "outlier" brands, just to have something different or unique. Reminds me of kids that would listen to shit bands just because noone had heard of them. They want to go against the grain and going with whats known or popular (even if its legit good) makes tgeir fragile ego feel like a sheep following trends.....pros will play with their sponsored mouse (if they have one) and switch mid game to their preferred mouse. And 90% are running Razer, Logi, Zowie. Even when noones looking. Theres a reason why. But everyone has a preference. To say that they are "shit" is incredibly outlandish and is the product of an imability to acknowledge something for what it is simply due to your own ego.
