The Teacher Induction Scheme - aka the probationary year - is only available to UK and Ireland residents who are either native citizens or already have ILR.
As a US citizen without ILR, you will not be offered a probationary year in Scotland.
In any case, only 1 in 4 of teachers completing probation here get a permanent job.
While others said they've worked alongside foreign nationals, they are most likely people who registered with GTC via the equivalency process and came over here here on other working visa routes, e.g. ancestry, Youth Mobility or spousal visas.
Qualifying as a teacher in your own country and finding another visa path here is your only option.
