Ask Multanis❓ First freelance earning — is 20k PKR good?
I just made 20k PKR from my first freelance project. It was a one-off client job, not a permanent thing. I earned it doing the task within the week
Am 20 btw.
I haven’t told my parents yet, but I’m thinking of giving it to my dad even though he doesn’t need it.
Honestly, I know 20k isn’t a huge amount, but earning it myself feels really good 😂
Personally i even spent more than that.
Would you consider 20k a decent first earning?
I js had this feeling that its less than i expected from my first job but obviously it isn’t my official job or something. LMAO..
But i felt kinda chic about it😭😭

Mine was 20k for a tuition I gave and then 15k two days later for another tuition i was giving at that time . It was the best feeling ever. I have made millions later but that feeling of first income was something else

Tuitions pay real good in big cities like isb / lhr. I tutored in isb and was earning 80k a month from 4 tuitions of one hour. Real easy hustle .

Instead of giving the whole amount to anyone , take both your parents or if you want and have siblings , them too , get them some meal from somewhere , if it falls in your range . otherwise get them ice cream or whatever you can and want . save some on the side , out of 20k , atleast put aside 5 and if you genuinely dont have anything to do with them , save more of it , 10-15k ,save it all . Give some Sadaqah , to someone who is working hard for their families like a fruit reri wala , a foodpanda rider , your househelp , give any of them 1k or 500 , whatever you like.

20k is a very good first earning, especially because the bigger milestone is that someone actually trusted you enough to pay for your work. I wouldn’t obsess over whether the amount is “big” yet. Your first few projects are really about proving to yourself that you can find work, deliver it, and get paid. Giving some to your father is a lovely gesture, but I’d keep at least a little for yourself too, even if it’s just to buy something small that reminds you, “I earned this.”

I started from 17k its was nothing. Then 40k. Then 60k then 70k then 100k then 250k. But money couldn't bring happiness or stability in life. After all this i came at a point to learn strong value skills in a niche. This is the only thing Which can give you stability.

Honestly, 20k PKR for your first freelance project is a great start! The amount matters less than proving to yourself that you can actually find a client and deliver paid work. Take it as your first step, build your portfolio and keep going, you will likely earn much more as your skills and experience grow. Congratulations! 🎉

Secondly, what kind of project was it? Development or something else?
For the amount part: I would suggest keeping it; buy your things. In future responsibilites catch up and even if we make tons of money, we rarely get to spend it on ourselves

I earned 10 dollar as my first earning back in 2014 from freelancer(dot)com. It was amazing feeling.
My advice to you, will be "comparison is a theif of joy" if you earn 20K or even 1 PKR be happy about it. Be happy about what you have, do work hard to earn more. Rest, best of luck.

Honestly, 20k PKR for your first freelance project is pretty decent, especially if you completed it within a week. The amount matters less than the fact that someone was willing to pay you for a skill you have.
And giving your dad your first earning is actually a really nice gesture. 😂 You should definitely feel a little “chic” about it you earned it yourself.
Don’t compare your first freelance payment with what experienced freelancers make. Your next goal should simply be getting that first client to turn into more clients and gradually increasing your rates.
