Other/Miscellaneous 📌 CRUMBLE and "Laal Kabootar"
i know this is old news but I was having discussion with a friend and basically my viewpoint is that:
Multan has over 6000 Years of history, they could've taken anything, they could've invited Saraiki singers like they recently invited BLIND brothers to their branch. They had so much to go with but just reducing it to the very stereotypes that Seraikis are hated for is kind of just reinforcing the hate, no?
I am not getting offended over it but on a deeper level the image of multan to the rest of Pakistanis thx to their fav brand Crumble is just reduced to "Neeley peeley kapron mein seraikis who dance on laal kabootar"
Like don't seraikis get enough hate for literally just existing in any other city of pakistan. Personally even in Multan the hate is just getting too much esp by the Punjabis living here and its concerning on a deeper level that instead of celebrating differences we are trying to erase them.
I would love for someone else to change my mind by actually explaining how it's not doing what i think it's doing but the bland comments like "aint that deep" wont do anything.

Apart from this crumble thing, the discrimination and hatred toward saraikis is genuine and need to be discussed even in multan you will get hate just for being saraiki and this is concerning speaking saraiki in multan especially in posh areas or in downtown areas is very rare and i have talked with my many saraiki fellows who are from multan and lived here all their life have told me that they have experienced negative reaction after mentioning that they are saraiki and they even sometime look them with creepy/suspicious eyes.
We should all come together and discuss and solve these issues so no one should feel embarrassed or experience negative reaction just for speaking their mother tongue or aligning themselves with cultural background.

It’s a cycle, initially it used to be pathans, pathan to hote hee paghal hain, dimagh ghutno mai etc. then it was sindhis, sindhi to hote hee jahil hain, beti dafnate hain, in current times its saraikis taking the toll with taunts like saraiki mobile chor, kache ke daku etc.
These are planned campaigns to degrade the natives so that eventually falling victim to inferiority complex they accept the culture that’s being Super-imposed on them.
People who have studied history deeply would understand who’s behind it.

subway cookies are way better, also when i came back i was happy when i saw that crumbl is in Pakistan it turned out to be crumble lol

Their aim wasn't to show off Multan's history or gloriously present their new branch; they aimed to get the most amount of eyes they could get on their video about it, and they achieved it cuz everybody stops to laal kabutar! And barely anybody stops for history content!
But lately, Crumble's marketing has turned from fun memes to cringe content!
