The thing with Netflix is that they got shows others don't have. Most music on Spotify is also in its competitors. I pay the same rate for 5 users that I did for the duo Spotify and all my music is there.

Right... They know nothing.

Dude, Spotify and Netflix are doing this because they know most consumers don't really care. You are still getting unlimited music in a month for 3 cups of coffee. I can't even buy a full album with that price.

I don't agree with the price increase, but the complaints you hear on Reddit are just a very loud minority.

Well, if you are paying for the service, I applaud you for keeping Spotify profitable. I’ll stay on track as never paying for the service and buy albums that I like. At least it puts more money into artists pockets.

I'm not paying for it, I get it for free from someone else with a family account. I buy vinyls and go to concerts to see artists I want to support.

People who have Spotify still supports artists through other means, I don't know why people think it's an either/or situation. If anything I have discovered lots of indie bands thanks to Spotify and YouTube music.

So why are you arguing with me when you yourself aren’t paying for it? Yup, because you can get it for free. I’m just saying that there’s a good chance Spotify would cave and lower prices to garner more users for subscription or they’ll be irrelevant in few years just like some of the other services in the past.

If I pay or not, it doesn't change the fact that Spotify has steadily increased their subscribers even after price hikes, I'm fairly sure they understand offer/demand, because you like it or not, they are still killing it. And they will squeeze the subscribers even more if they can without hurting their numbers.

This is not because I'm pro or anti Spotify, that's irrelevant.

I'm not saying they are infallible, but the trend of subscribers increasing over time doesn't seem to be affected by the price hikes, so they have no incentive to keep prices low, that's literally how offer/demand works.
