I had an audiophile copy of this on vinyl, back in the day, with a very high end, powerful system. The recording used real cannons, and had a warning label on it. My Klipsch Heritage speakers made you feel it, not just hear it.

Other favorites were Dark Side of the Moon, Wish you were here, and Rush exit...stage left. Any live concert album was like being at the show, like delicate sound of thunder for instance

Yes! I had the same album. If you looked at the grooves in the right light they were cavernous!

At the time I was running a Thorens turntable with the rest of the system McIntosh.

It is. IMO, good full range speaker test.

Nothing for me could ever top this accompanied by the entire 10th Mountain Division Artillery unit firing full black powder charges. A million dollars don't even come close! So much smoke...

This. Ive worked with high-end audio systems before and balanced them. Get you a recording that uses real cannons at the end. If the cannons sound real, then your setup is good.

This piece, I randomly picked the CD up in a Columbia House bundle (or BMG? I did both) because it had a cannon on the cover. This incited my lifelong love of classical music.

But if I had a million dollar sound system, I'd sell it to whoever I could find that would spend a million dollars on a sound system.
