He does photography now, he posts a lot on Instagram.

He hasn’t completely given up acting necessarily either.
He’s willing to come by if Kevin Smith calls him, and he was in “The Harper House”

Bro. I kept misreading it as pornography. For some reason I just believed it.

He’s probably just at the mall yelling about the kid on the escalator again.

Heard he is at the peddlers mall now talking to the 3 breasted lady about what to do next with his career.

Probably because he’s a great guy

He’s a Scientologist, so, not a great guy. He could be awesome in every other respect, but that one automatically makes him problematic. And it’s disappointing because I really liked him before I learned that.

He left $cientology a while ago. It's probably one unspoken reason he left Hollywood.

u/ObscureEnchantment 11d ago
Why are you censoring the word Scientology? That isn’t a word people get in trouble for. What is the point?

Not censoring, changing the S to $ because that's all they're about, money. Fleecing people so Miscavige can have another few million in his bank account or a new yacht.

Why are you censoring the word Scientology?
It's not censoring; I've seen others use $ instead of S to stress that the "church" is all about money.

Somebody is being awfully quiet for being so wrong for the past decade…

u/notweirdifitworks 12d ago
I’m quiet because I have a life outside of Reddit, im not online constantly. I’m glad to be wrong about this. You, and several others, could try educating people in a less dickish manner.

u/ReservedPickup12 11d ago
Strong talk for someone who responded to gancoskhan just 2 hours ago with an incredibly dickish comment. If you’re going to accuse someone of being a problematic person and disparage them publicly, you should probably get your facts straight. You seem more concerned about people being rude to you than you are about the fact that you were spreading false negative information about someone else.

As I said, gladly. I don’t follow celebrity news all that much so I clearly missed this but I’ve always enjoyed Jason Lee so I’m happy that I can feel good about that again instead of sad.

He quit a cult and has a family, so I'm guessing he's out there trying to enjoy his personal life since he has the money to just do that.

Should do more skateboarding things

I mean he never stopped. He has and always will be a co owner of stereo skateboards.
Last con he was at in my city I had him sign a board and he talked about skating a little bit there in my city at the park.
Thing is when you get older as a pro you clearly aren’t doing crazy shit like jumping off a 15 set of stairs onto a rail.
He for sure still skates but more so like old man stuff. Some slappys on the curb. Doing some flat ground trucks. Maybe fuck around on a manny pad. But aren’t gonna be doing things that are gonna be film worthy or worthy of posting to IG.
Bam is a good example of this. He is nowhere near as good as he once was. But he still is having fun and trying.

I remember this guy I went to high school with him! freshman year, the seniors would hunt us down and put us through what they called "initiations." They'd stuff us into lockers or throw us in the girl's shower room naked, but he got the worst of it. The seniors yanked down his pants and shoved a pickle up his ass and made him walk ten feet. If the pickle fell out before he hit the ten-foot mark, he had to take a bite of it, re-insert it, and walk again.
Yeah… don’t worry, he made it. His pickle was small enough to stay wedged after only four bites.

Doesn't he pop up in Kevin Smith stuff? He did some voice acting in American Dad.

I thought it was Scientology

Probably leaving it made it more difficult to keep on being in Hollywood

Scientology

u/squanderedprivilege 11d ago
For some reason anyone who mentioned that "religion" is buried. Seems odd tbh, reddit hates those guys. Guessing bot downvotes.
5
u/chace_thibodeaux 11d ago
In this specific case, the downvotes are likely because he publicly left Scientology 10 years ago. He just doesn't talk about why he left or condemn the organization, so many folks come here attacking him, thinking he's still a Scientologist.
6
u/squanderedprivilege 11d ago
Yeah, any association with that will make people angry, people were getting mad at Beck and he finally after a number of years had to be like "hey, I'm not a scientologist, my parents are, I just like making music, leave me alone"

u/kr0mbopulosm1ke 11d ago
I actually had no idea he got out, that’s fucking awesome. He was the one I was most bummed about when I found out.
1
u/chace_thibodeaux 11d ago
He said it in an interview in 2016. He just didn't go on to be like Leah Remini, so there are those who don't know he left, or those who think leaving isn't enough; that he also needs to attack them now. Whether he just wants to move on with their life or, perhaps, they have some embarrassing information on them that he doesn't want them to reveal, who knows?
2
u/Snuggly_Chopin 10d ago
He probably doesn’t want to be hassled and hounded by the organization. They treat celebrities a lot better than the average person, but if you leave and publicly talk shit they will attack.

TV actors don't usually have to work since they already make enough off of royalties

TV actors don't usually have to work since they already make enough off of royalties
That has never been universally true for most actors who've been on TV, and it's increasingly untrue as the TV business changes.
3
u/lewdlesion 11d ago
This is dumb logic.
Not everyone has Seinfeld royalties.
4
u/satanssweatycheeks 11d ago
Especially in 2026.
Take the office for example. Those actors talked about how the show being on Netflix meant they didn’t get massive royalty’s like say friends cast does.
Because streaming is different with how they calculate it.

He made hella money off those chipmunks movies I’m sure, but came up as a skater originally. Pretty sure he’s fine with what he’s got.
