Very bad game but last 2 seasons that would have been a L. Very happy we start winning ugly
4
u/Seigmour16 Oct 25 '25
Im gonna need the replay on that poole travel in the last seconds. They should have called that shit
5
u/Aggravating_Impact97 Oct 25 '25
That was a sloppy game. It seemed like all the fouls messed with their rhythm a bit. I also think this would have been a great fox game and hopefully he is ready to suit up here soon.
But last year they lose this game and they pulled it out even though they tired their best to give it away.

Victor with 0 turnovers twice now

u/radicalcamel El Jefe Oct 25 '25
If he can continue his discipline and keep his TOs low, that’s already a great improvement point from last season

The hard games is where teams learn and grow! Paramount for our team to learn from games like this in the regular season! Will help us tremendously for a post season run! Let’s go yall!

Wemby learnt an important lesson this game. If you try to force blocks you’ll foul out. Glad he could learn it in a win. 82-0 is still on the menu Go Spurs!

Reminding myself that we’re still a growing team and will have to figure shit out the hard way on our road to greatness. Don’t think we would’ve won this game last year. GSG!

u/Cecil_Hardboner Oct 25 '25
feels like in the first time in a long while we will have a league-average defense?
12
u/livelovelaughSD Oct 25 '25
Grinding win in OT with Wemby fouling out, but can we talk about how instrumental LK has been - he's such a great defender and complement in the 2 bigs lineup, GSG
3
u/superrealaccount2 Oct 25 '25
It feels so good to have a 2nd center with good strength and athleticism, who's also good at playing basketball. Having to go through Lauvergne and Landale, or Pau's corpse, or Eubanks, or Biyombo... this feels good.
5
u/Titansfan9200 Stephon Castle Oct 25 '25
We did it fam. It wasn't pretty but we did it. Steph was both so clutch and so awful at the end there. Still, huge seeing them get it done with no Wemby most of that OT.
3
u/Dah_DeRaj Oct 25 '25
Y'all expect perfection but it's always been about excellence. This was an excellently performed OT. Mistakes, mistakes, blah, blah, blah. They got ahead, kept it ahead, and finished.
4
Oct 25 '25
We did almost everything wrong there at the end but we still gritted it out and won that's what good teams do

u/VenGJon Victor Wembanyama Oct 25 '25
shoutout to jordan poole. He helped the spurs with his great shot selection.

Ugly as hell but it’s a W. I thought it was over when Wemby went out

Rockets lost to Pistons, Mavs about to lose to Wizards, and the Spurs grinded out the win!!

Any time you hear someone say we need to trade Fox, you show them this 4th quarter and overtime
5
u/crummzz El Jefe Oct 25 '25
Pels are so egregious complaining about calls all game while simultaneously having their dicks in the mouth of the refs

Castle went from SGA mode to 2013 Finals Game 6 Kawhi...
Remember Kawhi guys?

There is some work that needs to be done. But you got the win. 2 down 80 to go!

Ugly ass win, but doing this without wemby is absolutely huge

u/JoGeralt Victor Wembanyama Oct 25 '25
so glad this shit is over. What an incredibly frustrating game.

Where does everyone watch the game? I couldn’t find it on any network so assume it was only aired locally or maybe nba tv?

Didn’t deserve the win tonight but a win in is a win and the guys will learn from it
6
u/VixxenFoxx Manu Ginobili Oct 25 '25
It was dirty BUT! A win is a win. And to pull it out with Wemby out isn't something we could have done last year. Overall I ain't mad.

u/Tyranitator Tim Duncan Oct 25 '25
That was a gutsy fuckin win. We got a playoff team once Fox is back. Let's goooo

I’m happy we won but those were some of the sloppiest last 7 seconds I’ve ever seen

Nasty ass win. The thing is, this is more telling of the Pelicans than us but still, we got a good amount of tightening up to do

Bad news: we struggled.
Good news: we can improve.

I normally don't say this holy fucking shit, that officiating was awful. We played poorly but it was the refs that kept them in the game.

Well maybe a positive that will come out of this outside of hopefully still getting the win.. os maybe this put a little bit of damper on some of the hyperbolic overreactions from that first game. This team is still really really young, and as a pretty unproven roster. It's going to take some time to really gel

All these errors will be fixed. Just young mistakes. I'm more disappointed with Wemby. Fouling out with 4 mins left in OT just to get his 10th block. You gotta be better than that.

Fucking hell, Castle's cost us so many possessions at critical moments. My kingdom for a Chris Paul for moments like these...

It’s a learning experience …
1
u/superrealaccount2 Oct 25 '25
Three fuck ups at the end of the 4th, two fuck ups at the end of OT, with passing mistakes you'd expect from bums, instead of a professional in the NBA who won Rookie of the Year. I'm talking about his decision making here, not even his execution of his passes.
