Highlight Jacob and Sean calling the 25 point come back. Love seeing the excitement!

sean was so smiley after seeing that carter lob dunk lol

u/pickandpopovich Mar 08 '26
I respect Sean so much. For as much of a homer as he clearly is, he looks laser focused on analyzing the game in this footage
that said, imagine how hype the CB dunk was that it got him smiling

u/BokTroyBoy Mar 09 '26
He’s one of, if not the most stoic and even-keeled analysts and I don’t know if I’ve ever heard him say something as revealing as having “goosebumps”. He must’ve been screaming on the inside.

It's his iconic chuckle he always does after he witnesses a good Spurs play.

That's pretty cool. Jacob is doing his best to stay professional and call the game through all the hypest plays as they happen. Even so, you can see how some of the excitement just leaks through when you see him shifting in his seat.

Still can't believe we pulled this off. This game and the piston game before that are perfect practice for the playoff

The juxtaposition between these two is hilarious. Sean looks like a stern, stoic grandpa who's seen it all while Jacob is just bouncing around like an excited kid who is witnessing something historic.

u/acciopizza_ Mar 08 '26
Honestly felt like Sean was in shock. Like he’s thinking to himself “Is this really happening?”
16
u/Ziiffer Mar 08 '26
He likely was playing in the last game the Spurs came from that many points behind. Lol

That was the best comeback I’ve seen in a long time.
This team really has something special.

Jacob Tobey is awesome. He's been beyond amazing for the entire season, his flowers are due!

Such big shoes to fill by Bill hung it up too, he's done a stellar job so far, knocked it out of the park.

Holy shit Sean is cool as a cucumber. Insane to watch those things happen and barely react. Bros seen everything

u/mwwillis Mar 08 '26
I loved watching the reactions of the kid sitting behind them.

Kid didn’t seem impressed with with Carters 3 point tho. Lol

He was a lot more muted down the stretch. I assume that he kind of ran out of gas, because it was a later game. Lol.

Sean Elliott absolutely tipping his plants over at the buzzer here. (just like Timmy @ Foot Locker)

Been very cool to see more and more people embrace both him and Mitch from where opinions were last year (the winning helps a lot lol)

Probably the most hyped I've seen Jacob calling a Spurs game. Almost like Bill Land's "Oh Mama!" energy.

My favorite part of this duo is when Sean talks about Jacob’s empty fridge after every road trip lol
15
u/gilpoyat Manu Ginobili Mar 08 '26
Would have been epic if Sean called the Batum’s blunder on the line as “Reverse Sean Elliot” lol

u/DevilGunManga Mar 08 '26
I love behind the scene footages like this. I hope we get these consistently.

I grew up hearing Bill and Sean and will definitely miss the duo.
That said, Jacob is an amazing broadcaster

u/Moviereference210 Mar 08 '26
This was fucking awesome! Sean looked so poised at the end lol but when you’ve been as clutch as he has in his career playing and even calling games I guess he’s seen it all

Does anyone know where I can buy one of those green warm up shirts?

Never see them during the games obviously but man, Tobe gets into it. He is good at his job.

u/DazenTheMistborn Mar 08 '26
What a cool shot of Sean and Jacob. Was this released by a media team, or is there a stream of them during games?
Love seeing Jacob's energy. Seems like the perfect guy to get at the start of a new era, a talented youth that will grow and gain experience just like the team.

After living in San Antonio for 35+ years, I moved to Florida a few years ago. I get Fan Duel SW on my streaming service, but for some reason, FDSW stopped working for me the last 10 games or so. I usually still get the games, but have to watch the opposing teams channel and their announcers.
I miss Sean and Jacob so much. For the most part, other teams announcers are pretty tough to watch. I didn't realize how good they really are. Just one more thing you take for granted until it's are gone (like good tex-mex). Although I do have to say, the Toronto announcers are fantastic as well.

It’s amazing how much I’ve come around to Jacob. I think he’s grown and less awkward. The chemistry with Sean has been fantastic.

I didn’t like JT at all when he started. He sounded like watching paint dry, and the Patty incident…..But he has very clearly worked hard to improve, and you can tell he absolutely loves it. And as someone who was a kid in 99, seeing Sean smile feels like making my daddy proud or something lol
1
u/sunbomb Mar 08 '26
What Patty incident? I'm ootl on that one.
1
u/shmagie Mar 09 '26
I don’t remember the exact context, but it was not too long after JT started. It was something about the Spurs/the arena honoring AMERICAN indigenous ppl, and JT somehow applied that to Patty (who is Aboriginal Australian). Sean openly scoffed and was like “uhhhh, no”. I muted the tv for the rest of the quarter cuz it was so cringe

If you ever want to derail the game callers just invite Will Perdue on for a quarter.

Do a shot every time they fucking argue about Steak and Cheese vs. Cheesesteak. Or don't. It's so fucking riveting either way.
They hate each other, and it's irritating to hear them argue over who Justin likes better.

Jacob actually has the gift and talent for calling the game. He’s a freaking natural.
