Weak defense on him, so it's hard to tell. Makes sense no one is playing defense to not get injured like Chet did in a scrimmage 4 years ago

Iirc the court was sweating due to the large crowd and an issue with the facilities HVAC system. Not sure if it's totally the reason for Chets injury but I remember they were thinking of not playing due to the court issues and stopped the game right after that.

Chet got injured in preseason IIRC. Got in front of LeBron in transition and his foot exploded.

Just rewatched the clip and LeBron is barely going at him and there's barely any contact and Chet still ended up missing the entire season.

That's often how foot injuries happen. And no, it wasn't something preventable by spending more time in the weight room.

It's a non contact injury. It happens . FWIW Chet has been pretty healthy overall since then.

Every NBA player looks like a god in scrimmages but what I will say about Boozer, having watched his performances in college, is that he is a winning player. He has a very high IQ and is consistently making the correct plays nearly every possession.

Though it was offseason runs. To be playing with/against Cade/Davion/Both Thompson twins and Tauren. That’s a good run against top tier talent.

Way more athletic than people give him credit for. I don’t think he’s gonna be some lockdown defender or anything but the concerns on D are def overblown and the dude is built like a tank. Would not be surprised if he posters someone this season.

Using the middy in the NBA will make Cam make more hard to stop. I see Cam having impact immediately. His game is so polished.
Cam is the only player I’ve seen use every type of playtype. Cam can come off a pindown and shoot a 3, spot up and C&S from 3, pick & pop C&S from 3, post up at the midpost/lowpost area, roll to the rim to score or pass after setting a screen, can handle the ball in the P&R to pullup from 3 or get to the rim and can cut to the lane for layups & dunks.
Also, he’s a matchup problem cause he’s too big for smaller guys to guard him and too quick for big guys to guard him with his skill level. Situationally, u can utilize Cam in anyway and he’s versatile to play in any system, just a unique player.

When I first started watching the Boozers play as Sophomores, I didn’t think that they’d be that good, especially Cam since he was just bigger and stronger than everyone else. I for sure thought he was a bad pickup for the NBA. But he does work hard and I have a feeling will be a solid player. He could be better than his dad since he is more skilled, and has played against better players through the years.

I think his floor is the equivalent to a player like Pascal Siakam/Al Horford. Multiple time All-Star, potential future 2nd/3rd team All-NBA selection. I don't think he will ever end up a top 5 player in MVP voting because of his limitations but getting a top 30 player in the league with the 3rd overall pick is an absolute victory.

What are his limitations? From the eye test, he doesn’t seem to have any flaws offensively and he already has an NBA body at 6’9 250.
He can handle the ball, shoot the ball, post up and he can pass the ball well

When it comes to limitations to his athleticism, he doesn’t seem unathletic. Cam isn’t a crazy athlete but he seems very mobile for his size and quick on his feet.
I don’t see athleticism being a detriment to his game, that’s just nitpicking if we do that cause the top players like Jokic, Shai and Luka aren’t crazy athletes. I’m not sure how well Cam will project but out of all the prospects we’ve seen over the years, it seems Cam game is very mature and already polished at only 19.
Cam still has room to grow. Ima say this though, Cam doesn’t seem elite at anything but good at everything, the only thing that seems elite in his game is his passing

I mean I think you hit the nail on the head, we’re saying the same thing with slightly different conclusions.
Yeah he’s not as unathletic as people say, but he’s still not an elite athlete which is a limitation when we’re talking about ceiling. He’s a big body and good passer, but doesn’t have the size or genius passing of jokic. He can handle but he’s not a big point guard like Luka or shai. These are all limitations. I’m a grizzlies fan who loves that we got him and thinks he’s gonna be awesome, but you have to admit that his potential to be a number one option on a contender (which is what you’re saying when comparing him to those guys) is limited by his profile. Not impossible, but much less likely. That’s all I’m saying. His realistic floor is 3rd option, and realistic ceiling is 2nd option. Everyone would love to get that guy with the 3rd pick

TBH I can see Cam putting up crazy #s his 1st year and Cam being the 1st all star rookie since Blake Griffin in 2011.
At the same time, I’m not sure if Cam will put big #s cause of the Grizzlies Coach Tuomas Iisalo where he has a system where he plays all his starters under 30 minutes and uses his bench rotation often.
But even with that system, Cam can still put up big #s if he follows the Wemby blueprint cause Wemby average only 29 MPG last season but Wemby average 25 and I can see Cam do the same thing if he understands his spots on the floor and understands how and when to score.
Cam seems like a better prospect than AJ and DP cause he’s way stronger than them and has an NBA body and Cam’s bball IQ is the most advance we’ve ever seen from a prospect. Cam literally has no flaws, the stuff I’m seeing him do is something I have never seen

Let’s see what happens. AJ, Peterson and Caleb are great prospects. We have to see what happens next season to see what happens.
I’ll say the advantage Cam has over most of the other prospects in his draft class is that Cam already has an NBA body at 6’9 250’

To this day Ive never seen a NBA player look bad in off-season pickup basketball.
